This particular song has the same pace and sound as the 28 Days Later theme, but it just has this screeching and anguish feeling that really adds to this feeling of horror. Fantastic composing, well done!
THAT'S what I was trying to recall, THANK YOU! The music from the opening of 28 Weeks Later haha. I swear I was racking my brain for where I heard it in the Walking Dead. Thought maybe the hand on the roof scene at the end of S1E3. Badass music in that scene too, but not quite it.
me too its just so good, I was watching meat canyon video and wondering "wait whats that banger in the background" and now im here, keep it up bro you make amazing music
the fact the last half of the song is super dirty just adds so much to the body horror of it all. the distorted guitar just hammering the whammy.. ohh . its so damn good.
The fact that this piece stood out for me so much while watching the animation really speaks for itself! I'd wish to see more of these! Sounds powerful and dramatic despite and inspite of the context being what it is haha
dude heard this in the background had to check it out immediatley maazing job reminds me of like later 2000s horror and action movies keep it up bruhski
i am left in shock, i am left in awe. this is the most incredible song i have ever heard in the background of a muscle-based body horror animation. i knew i had to hear the original after the meatcanyon video... i don't regret it.
I love the homage to songs like 'In the House in a Heartbeat' and 'Frank's Choice', but this 100% stands on its own as a phenomenal song! I'm a massive fan of Muse, and this really scratches my itch for the distorted-guitar-vocals of their earlier albums. You've knocked it out of the park with this, and the amount it complements the visuals is absurd.
The soundtrack in this video was so amazing, it made me fall in love with orchestration and composing again. Keep up the good work man. Really good music.
Nah. You're actually a genius with that distortion note using your voice. My jaw dropped. I have had a composition book in my room for almost a year now and I might actually start reading it. New hobby unlocked. Thx man *I'm a bassist btw
This music is quite literally perfectly reflecting the video. The music is at first very soft and doesn't really draw your attention, just like how the kid is at first very shy. The first time he he gets touched by Sam (the angel of gains), the guitar sound starts to get more prominent, and the drums start playing, representing the start of his transformation. As the kid panics and hides and his arm slowly starts getting larger and more muscular, we can hear it. The music has a buildup. This is followed shortly by sam appearing behind the kid. When Sam puts his arms on the kid to progress his transformation, the guitar sound has this screaming effect, but also this powerful undertone perfectly reflects how the kid is feeling but also what he's becoming. When Sam lifts him by his leg and touches him on other body parts to transform them, the guitar has a wailing sound effect adding further level of detail to present the pain hes in. It isnt until the song ends do we see the child no longer have the will to do anything. This is a perfect score for the video, good job and I sincerely look forward to other musical projects.
This was absolutely fucking amazing man. Has the same feels and tension as In a Heartbeat, but it captures its own moment perfectly, as did the music in the movie. Also that's genius creativity, to replicate an instrument simply through voice...I've never seen this done; you had me completely fooled haha
This almost sounds like a track straight out of risk of rain. Chris Christodoulou uses sounds very similar to these in a lot of his pieces. Absolutely amazing work, I love the pacing and how the calm yet unsettling tone at the beginning picks up into a much more extreme sense of danger.
I was listening to this on repeat one night, I closed out the tab to listen to Spotify. While I was listening to sleep music this beat started up very slowly, I flipped out and had sleep paralysis in the morning.
I've been listening to this occasionally since the video came out, it reminds me of the 28 days later soundtrack. It's like this score captures the intensity of the situation perfectly, something that I believe the 28 days later score almost reached. I love this, the video would have never had that raw intensity without it! I can't wait to see the next projects you take part in. ❤
I want to let you know that I literally just finished listening to the track about 7 to 8 times and I finally got to the part where you explained how you got the guitar sounds and it made me die of laughter.
I love... I REALLY love how intimate the song itself is, it's beautiful, and the fact that you didn't even use real guitars, makes it more impressive, just a chef's kiss to this beautiful, And enjoyable composition
this is such an amazing rendition/reference to 28 weeks later. a lot of people keep saying 28 days later but i think they forget they're separate films. you should really make an extended version of this, absolutely amazing piece my friend! (also the post credits part after the song finished made me laugh really hard, thank you alex lmao)
This is like a super condensed version of a Godspeed You! Black Emperor song, I love it. I love the tension from the C harmonic minor scale (I think, been years since I learned basic music theory), and the build up from a soft melody with 1 instrument to the loud, harsh multi-track climax. Idk if you compose longer pieces similar in style to this, but if you do I gotta check them out.
Dude, I hope Papa meats pays you actual money for this because dude fuckin awesome job just awesome. Made that video much more epic and thrilling because of it and strangely feels like it belongs in an Oatsfilm Firebase Vol. 1 continuation. Specifically the end where the "hero" becomes the new "River God".
I love this song. Like others said in the comments, it sounds like John Murphys, "In the house - in a heartbeat" but thus song has a nice tone to it that it has and makes its horror melody sound to it. I live it! Good job!
God damn I love this, goosebumps when it played through the animation since it beckons memories back to 28 days later theme. Also towards the end mentioning you don't know how to play guitar, had no idea it was done through vocals!
I think that this music RIGHT HERE was one of the best music i have heard honestly i love everything about it!!!!! It is scary but also cool and meanicing! I cannot express how epic this song was 10/10 i am subscribing for sure
This gave me so many “in the house, in a heartbeat” vibes. To the point that I thought it was a cover of that song when I heard it in meat canyons video. I wish this was on Spotify seriously
bro didn't have to go so hard over an animation 😭
@leleo5019I stood up with my phone in my hand during the fake guitar solo and said this is crazy out loud
"You have so much potential inside of you''
Music explodes
This particular song has the same pace and sound as the 28 Days Later theme, but it just has this screeching and anguish feeling that really adds to this feeling of horror. Fantastic composing, well done!
I knew I recognized it but couldn't pick out from where. Good ear.
Yeah reminds me of Godspeed You! Black Emperor
(East Hastings is the GY!BE song from 28 days later)
THAT'S what I was trying to recall, THANK YOU! The music from the opening of 28 Weeks Later haha. I swear I was racking my brain for where I heard it in the Walking Dead. Thought maybe the hand on the roof scene at the end of S1E3. Badass music in that scene too, but not quite it.
@@MaterialBlade in a house in a heartbeat is the name of the song
took the words out of my mouth
very reminiscent of 28 days later. Love it!
lol thats why i heard at first
I was wondering why it sounded so familiar.
What do you mean reminiscent? it is almost exactly it
It reminded me of 28 days later... hence the word.. reminiscent. That's about it.@@MCPeeBoy
Yes! That was the reference for this one. Always loved that track!
Like 28 Days Later meets Frank's Choice
This man right here knows.
hell yea
God this one is really sounds like the masterpiece
It is a masterpiece
Very 28 days later, but also feels original in its own way, good stuff bro.
The "guitar" being actually Alex doing like "guitar noise" is the most awesome and funny thing i ever heard. Torgue from borderlands would be proud
GOD BLESS YOU MAN. THIS IS SO FUCKING AMAZING. I LISTENED TO THIS TRACK AT LEAST EIGHT TIMES, AND I CAN'T GET OVER HOW GOOD IT IS.
me too its just so good, I was watching meat canyon video and wondering "wait whats that banger in the background" and now im here, keep it up bro you make amazing music
the fact the last half of the song is super dirty just adds so much to the body horror of it all. the distorted guitar just hammering the whammy.. ohh . its so damn good.
It's insane that you used Kontakt and Midi Instruments for this one. A lot of it sounded studio recorded.
Thank you! Yes, it was definitely a mixing challenge, and it was a tall order trying to make it feel as epic as the 28 Days Later soundtrack.
@@AlexWalkerSmithits better than the 28 days soundtrack dude, good job
Seriously!! Your guitar voice rip was insane!!!
Yup it’s official it’s going not only in my faves but also in my specialized playlist. This is freaking amazing and I absolutely have to keep it!
We need more MC ost!
This sounds like it'd be right at home in Risk of Rain so amazing
YOOO I was just thinking the same when I read your comment
The fact that this piece stood out for me so much while watching the animation really speaks for itself!
I'd wish to see more of these! Sounds powerful and dramatic despite and inspite of the context being what it is haha

Wooow dude, that final part explaining how you made the guitar solo, got me crying on the floor.
holy shit this audio gave me goosebumps
I'm going to steal this music.
The fact at the end wasn't fun, but I'm still going to steal this music.
You better not! YOU BETTER NOT!
@@AlexWalkerSmith I did.

SAME
The Highschool od the Dead anime also had one played at the end of the first episode but it never came out with the OST release...
I NEED THIS ON SPOTIFY RIGHT NOW!!!! This is insane!!
Ah, the perfect gym track to get hyped for a 1RM test. This might be half the reason AoG is Meat Canyon's greatest work.
The soundtrack in this video was so amazing, it made me fall in love with orchestration and composing again. Keep up the good work man. Really good music.

This can become one of the best WWE entrance song of all time
Bro gave me 10 ideas with the distorted voice guitar. because I, in fact, can also NOT play guitar
A simple synth patch can do the trick too! 👍🏻
Threatening, intense, beautiful!
This was absolutely fucking amazing man. Has the same feels and tension as In a Heartbeat, but it captures its own moment perfectly, as did the music in the movie. A song for a force of nature.
You should do more of that mouth guitar. It's so unique and awesome!
Why is this so HARD! ITS AMAZING HOW RAW IT IS RAAAAAAAA
Dude you're a legend! I never knew it was your voice distorted to sound like a guitar
why is the music being so intricately examined on a clearly animation-focused vid- wait this goes so hard wtf
"I don't know how to play guitar" 💀
Risk of Rain + 28 days later type beat
This track is so god damn good! Holy crap, the guy who composed this is a genius.
This almost sounds like a track straight out of risk of rain. Chris Christodoulou uses sounds very similar to these in a lot of his pieces.
Absolutely amazing work, I love the pacing and how the calm yet unsettling tone at the beginning picks up into a much more extreme sense of danger.
28 years later should use this track
Man really well done, sounds a lot like 28 days later!
I'm completely in love with this track man, you rock
You did NOT have to make music this ATROCIOUSLY good
Love the metal element to this track
One of my favorites so far
I was listening to this on repeat one night, I closed out the tab to listen to Spotify. While I was listening to sleep music this beat started up very slowly, I flipped out and had sleep paralysis in the morning.
Thank you very much for posting this. While watching meatcanyons video i felt "in a house in a heartbeat" vibe, but something was new. Thanks again ❤

Dayum my boi still uses east west after 13 years, respect!
God, the music really elevated that video. So much nervous energy
That's got to be the best guitar I've ever heard.
For someone who doesn't know to play guitar u did a great job. I love this song. Searched for it a lot.

Alex I wanted to say you’re an absolutely incredible composer!
That end tid-bit is bloody amazing hahah. 😂
this makes me feel like someone's watching me
I've been following for over ten years at this point. Glad you're still making stuff and working with great creators
I appreciate that! Thanks for sticking around ❤️
EPIC, out of all of the soundtracks in Meat's videos this is def my favorite. nice job
This sounds a lot like Big Daddy Kills from the Kick-Ass soundtrack.
lmao about the guitar. Phenomenal
like the "28 days later"music which you were running away from the infected,
this one is when you're slowly becoming one.
Amazing job Alex and don't worry I totally thought they were guitars LMAO
Gotta love the fact that this feels inspired by" in the house in a heart beat"
this is such an amazing rendition/reference to 28 weeks later. a lot of people keep saying 28 days later but i think they forget they're separate films. you should really make an extended version of this, absolutely amazing piece my friend! Both use the same song so they’re not wrong
I remember looking you up immediately after the animation came out and being disappointed there wasnt the music by itself. Glad i went back to check
Love that riff 0:51 sounds like a cougar or mountain lion
Glad I’m not the only one who is reminded of in the house without a heartbeat
In the Steroids, in a Heartbeat (28 Gainz Later).
By far one of the best if not the best of your songs made.
This is like a super condensed version of a Godspeed You! Black Emperor song, I love it.

Beautiful.......
This is seriously good
Thanks for uploading man. Really loved this. Nice to hear it by itself!
God damn I love this, goosebumps when it played through the animation since it beckons memories back to 28 days later theme. Also towards the end mentioning you don't know how to play guitar, had no idea it was done through vocals!
This music feels so good. If I ever pick up working out, this will defo be the music playing while I do it.
this literally reminds me of 28 days later.. its amazing
Spotify SoundCloud when?
Had to go to the description to find this bc I loved it so much. Has a "protagonists last struggle" vibe.
Anyone know music similar to this?
one of the final tracks from the movie 28 days later, its amazing
Big daddy kill kick ass
gunpowder bob - everything ends here
In the house - in a heartbeat
Stephen McKeon - 15 Million Merits
Frank's Choice Theme

lMAO DUDE WHAT?? No way its your voice xd.
Keep the good work !!
Dude this is insanely good. I gotta sub after this masterpiece.
This so evil i love it, reminds me of the fucking resident evil movie theme
Dude this sounds so fucking cool. Its evil and cinematic. Im in absolute awe
Aaaaand that's getting put in the same playlist right next to in the house in a heartbeat.
I always loved this type of sound design but never knew the name to listen to it :(
this is the kind of song you would expect at a keypoint in a movie for the villain
bro thats insane ! distortion on the vocals to make a guitar is a genius idea, didnt even notice watching the video ahah.
