    Now that's some bad slop! It's good to see someone concerned about the equipment. Most people would have beat it into the mud bending every piece of sheet metal there was then cuss at it afterwards. You're a good level headed operator! Nice job, Stay safe, John

    That big old powerful machine feels mighty helpless in a situation like that. I set a Komatsu 300 down in a bog like that & if not for a big old beautiful virgin southern pine within boom reach I could latch on to the base of,, I was in store for some powerful ribbing when certain people drove up to see what I'd gotten myself into.
    All that weight can work against you in certain circumstances & when that cab & frame tilts on you,, it's pretty disorienting spinning that booger around trying to get your bearings again.
    Glad you had the luxury of some dry dirt around,, I didn't. I made my own muddy sump wading into the middle of a suspect bottom twisting & turning those tracks until that bottom fell out from under me. Eventually it'll happen to anyone who works in unstable & uncertain terrain long enough.
    Thank goodness for big ole' southern pines!

    I'm an old geezer now and I don't want you to think I'm preaching at you but in this video it looks like the far track was on better ground. Swing left and boom down hard on a flat bucket bottom raising the near track out of the muck. Swing forward and reverse track the far side at the same time and you're out. I've done it I don't know how many times with one track in the soup to the cab like that and the other on solid ground. No clawing around slinging slop or slipping and sliding back in trying to push or pull yourself out. If one track is on solid ground it never fails as long as you can reach solid ground with the stick in close. It's track as you swing and it works good without stressing the hell out of things or wasting time with the low side sinking. By doing it this way you can usually travel further than the length of a track also. Cheers and keep up the videos. It gives us old timers a way to pass the time since nobody wants us in the seat anymore. I don't see what being half blind has to do with it would you? LOL I like your videos son so don't take this wrong okay? I thought it might help you out down the road that's all.

    • @barryedwards1336
      @barryedwards1336 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have to admit he seemed to making hard work of it, why keep turning back towards the soup, and trying to push himself out, and not achieving anything, when he was already pulling himself out by using the bucket to dig in on the dry ground, or was this just for show to make it seem worse for the cameras and us.

    Just going through some of your older videos. That was almost unnerving! There is no bottom to that after the first 24 inches of soil! Good thing it wasn’t any deeper! Yikes!
    Of course,,,,,,, that would NEVER happen to you NOW with 4 extra years under your belt!! Hahaha. I remember my day abandoning an old tandem manure truck that was stuck in something like that! Almost buried the biggest John Deere 4x4 tractor back then, 1981 or 82. Just got it and I remember 400 hp. Dad was so proud of that tractor and scared shitless he was gonna bury it! He said f*ck it , and he hated that truck anyways! We would rob parts off of it when we needed as we had 5 trucks like that at one time, it was an automatic and the rest were 10 speeds. Only think left was a frame, some cab parts, the suspension and the transmission when we finally decided to pull the rest of the truck out! It really was a gutless wonder! Heh heh.
    Mud can be the most merciless crap to work in! Good to see you only had a dirty machine! (And maybe a small stain in your shorts!) haha.
