Huge Japanese fan here, vstar universe is actually the set that brought me back into the hobby after a few years break and as a Charizard collector I will definitely be trying to get my hands on ROTBF Japanese card quality is and always will be leaps and bound greater than English, funnily enough Chinese isn’t too far behind them if you want a cheaper alternative
Always loved to open japanese sets due to the quality of the cards even though they've had issues with printlines nowdays. Todays prices is really killing it for me, sadly!
I managed to order a Japanese 151 from Pokémon Center Japan and I’m really excited to receive and open it. I also bought quite a few Japanese singles when I was in Japan awhile back. It was a lot of fun looking for cards in Japan. It’s definitely a different scene in Japan than the US.
I have only purchased Pokemon 151 set for my Japanese collection. All other sets are in English. I did get a couple of Triplet Beat packs too but they were won in a game and not actually purchased outright. No hits out of Triplet Beat to boast about lol.
I haven't gotten into any Japanese product. Some of the stuff looks amazing but between the prices and already spending too much on English product it's hard to get into.

I collect Japanese but not as much as English. Japanese sets have special sets that have god packs and other holos like master ball (not in English). I feel like if English sets were identical in what they offer in Japanese, it wouldn't have as much demand
Vstar Universe was our first ever Japanese Pokémon opening, and it being High Class was so cool. We have only been able to open one 151 pack each just because of price like you mentioned and not wanting to buy into the hype. Thanks Danny!
I have a fair number of Japanese cards that I've uncovered from old binders. Was trying to decide if I should collect them too or find a way to sell them to those who would love them more. I'm way too deep into english sets so I'm not sure I need more collections to work on 🤣

Unironically my most sought after card from Obsidian Flame was the Bonsly card 😅. The previous one is something else and it’s nice to see an update for the Pokémon.
Transitioned to mainly collecting Japanese and keeping English sealed. Unfortunately the English quality has just deterred me from opening. Didn't get a chance to get in on Vstar so that's on my priority list.

I decided to collect pokemon 151. First Japanese set I collect. I know the boxes are marked up, but really it took me the same amount of money as an English set to collect most of my set.
its also so cool that you keep the prices as low as possible, to be fair so everyone can get a chance to get a part of the set, without getting bankrupt over it. so cool that Sakura does the same
The hype and pricing on the recent Japanese sets is a bit shocking -- it's definitely turned me away from Japanese for awhile. It's very generous of Sakura's Card Shop to provide a box of Ruler of the Black Flame and Vstar Universe for opening. The purple jersey looks great too!
Price memory and the possibility of pulling an unwanted full art as the box hit have kept me from JPN, but it would be nice if prices corrected. I remember seeing V Max Climax at $52 shipped, and Battle Region for $40 shipped. Current pricing is insanity.
Decided to take a look at that website, and of no surprise, a vast majority of product there is SOLD OUT. 😆🙄 But I'll definitely be on a lookout for any new stock.

I started collecting back at base set one and then stopped for awhile ... started collecting again at pokemon go and these arts are getting so good ... even though i love the original sets.
Sakura's is awesome! I've bought from them before. Didn't know about the vstar universe reprint otherwise I would've waited before dropping $200 on two boxes
I used to think Japanese cards were automatically outshined by English cards, but now in the Scarlet & Violet era, it seems the tides have turned for Japanese cards. Cards like the Iono SAR from Clay Burst really look amazing and more clean than it's English version. Looking forward to seeing who wins the giveaway next Friday!
The texture and just sparkles of Japanese is just do much better. And print quality in general but we all know about that😂 I just really want the most sparkly cards and wish English got with the program. Honestly that full art vespiquen is so nice looking. The full art teras just slap for me.
Pokemon 151 was my first dip into Japanese cards. Newer to collecting so still trying to get my mind around getting them. Lucky for me I sold bulk and the shop had boxes for sale. So i didnt pay tooooo much for it.

Pfft not really... English is basically two Japanese sets in one for most situations... japanese sets have a way higher turnover of new set coming out almost monthly

Agree with you Danny. Japanese price madness needs to cool off before I’ll buy booster boxes. Great value at msrp should they return to normal.
