when i first read this chapter, i figured that the symbolism of Ishmael marrying an egyptian has something to do with his mother being egyptian originally. I don't really know what that would mean tho
Hello brother, the symbolism of Egypt has to do with bondage and sin. We know this from Pauls' writing in the epistles. I'm curious what it means that the end of Ishmael is the marriage of an egyptian women. Makes me think theyre end is to be condemned and the destruction or "drying of the well". Could this be more specifically about Saudi Arabia and a prediction about their "Well" drying? I don't know. I'm unsure. Could also be that it's about a new "religion" they turn to. Could be the prophecy of Islam.
