    Thanks to Techmoan for letting use the "Hipster Idiot" clip from his TNT 8-track video. Check out his channel here: / techmoan
    I love this one because it still serves its original purpose of playing 8-Tracks. When you insert the special Bluetooth 8-track, you're forced to use the machine as intended with its original media and controls.
    Sure it doesn't sound great with it's original amplifier and speaker but that might be a possible future video on this machine by upgrading them.
    No real harm was done this iconic vintage device, everything I've done is removable. So when Bluetooth becomes obsolete, I've not permanently modified this 42 year old device by drilling media button holes, for a $20 device in 2016.

    Hey everyone! I'm his sister, for those who are wondering, my brother is okay! He's doing very well, in fact! It's just life caught up to him and doesnt have much time to really be making videos for youtube. I honestly didnt even know this channel existed until I saw his instagram account 😅 but anyways, he still collects retro things and still fixes things up from time to time, but work and family takes up most of his time. Plus he has a ton of unfinished projects 😅

    Best way to upgrade retro equipment, if someone doesn't like it it's removable, the functions still work and you don't see the upgrade , normally people would say impossible or who bother but you did a really Amazing Job.

    use music from the youtube audio library via bluetooth next time to show it working. royalty-free and no copyright strikes in sight. the original amplifier might be okay to use with a better speaker, however. try that first before upgrading both down the line.

    • @genericmale3907
      @genericmale3907 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Josh McCormack It's not too hard. A few tutorials, eBay and a few basic tools should get you on your way. I got a broken PS1 for 5 dollars from a garage sale and with a screwdriver, drill Stanley knife and hotglue I mounted a raspberri pi inside running retro pi (I know not so original but it proves a point)

    • @DrModdnstine
      @DrModdnstine  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Josh McCormack Like others have said, it's not that hard (at least extending the wires to the switches that control the Bluetooth device). Tapping audio into an existing device with no audio AUX input was new for me, so I did some googling to figure out how to do that. Stay tuned because my next upload I will start from scratch, doing the same thing to the clock radio I show at the end. I'll explain a lot more detail on how to mod an existing device you might already have lying around to do something like this.
