- Who knew a 5am BAESK8 PEV group ride on Labor Day morning would be the ultimate thrill ride for me on the Zero 10x and one of the best group rides ever?!?! Every electric vehicle gets repped with skate, scooters, bikes, and unicycles all showing up to take over SF streets in the early am as we head to Twin Peaks to catch the sunrise. Great group of people and an epic ride easily makes this one of The Electric LIfe's best videos ever.

Ummmm yeah!!! Only problem is we've only done this ride once and with winter coming no one is getting up at 3am to ride in that haha!! I post group rides almost weekly and I attend almost all group rides in the Bay Area on any given weekend but cant make any more videos if theres not any more rides...Sorry Im maxed out but glad you want more....New one drops in an hr!!

I think when the ride start or maybe it was already almost dead but I do have a light mid stem thats bright.....But of course the one night ride I do the night before I forget to charge!! Very good call anyone else reading this my lights need a major upgrade and you can see the good lights pass me in the vid. Big ditch in the road or some obstruction could send you flying, I should have had and do need one or two more lights. Great call my friend!! Camera gear, scooter, drones, of course I forget something. Its a miracle I get these videos done as multi tasking not my best....But thankfully somehow it all works out!! I 'm too chickenshit for the Uni, but love that Trike Scooter. Over 20 years ago, when I lived in a city, I would drive past midnight downtown mid-week, no traffic just city lights, clear my head. Great video brother, keep em coming...as always: E 4 Life!
I hear ya on the Uni front although in a back room that no one sees I might try it just to see if I can do it soon!! But the wipeouts are rough, the give out on those means a sudden dump on the rider and even geared up those get bad. BAESK8 has seen its share. Its gonna happen. Im with you on the trike!! it looks kinda crazy but the speed and most likely stability you get looks hella fun!! And definitely need to take more night rides, they are refreshing for the no traffic and people as you pointed out. Bakc at ya, E 4 Life!!!

Ricky that ride was TRULY RAD we are so lucky to have gotten our asses up and experienced it!! Always good vibes appreciate sharing the road with you as always my friend! Thanks for noticing the ending. Many more touches like that coming up in the vids as I finally upgraded to a new professional quality computer so I can do the basics like that with my drone stuff and some basic 4k editing. Think my channels formula has always been long form and plan to stick to that just going spice up the intro and outro to tell that story a little bit better!! So many new stories to tell...Hopefully see you for this Saturday's adventure!!!

Its truly one of those things were you go "Im going to be one of the only people crazy enough to wake up at 3:45 to make a strict 5am were leaving ride"....I make that left turn where everyone is hanging out at 4:45 and Im like WTF?!? DAMN we're pretty dedicated I must say. Kinda proud we all care this much. And what's funny, just like life really early bird gets the worm. Those early hours of no people, only cops!, and the best no cars is what made this so fun for me. Makes me think about more night or morning rides for sure, plus it looks fantastic on video!! It's like a little warning shot "I'm watching you"!! What's funnier is we get to the bottom of that hill and turn around and we pass him again 3 min later!!🤣 He's waking up going "I don't have time for these guys". Thankfully our city and police have more problems then some people enjoying a PEV ride at 5am and when given respect I give it back x10 to them.

Bro I hear that!! Honestly my biggest accomplishment for 2020 was getting up and making this ride haha!!! Gotta say it was worth it, probably the best ride of the year hands down. Having the streets to ourselves made it epic....Even the cops were like whatever do your thing!! Was stoked to be able to catch it and document the ride though...Once a year I can do haha!!

I was so proud to get up at 3:45 and get there at 4:50 and shocked to see literally almost 30 people were already there!! And then driving 35 mph at 5:10am with a group with lights on just had the mind going "What are we even doing right now"?!!? Was so worth it but yeah, lots of nuts for sure.

Its Legal in Portland OR, some arshole tried pull me over give me the "dont go faster than 25mph" bit, other than that ive had more issues from jerk motorist...

Hi my friend from America. Fantastic trip. So many to drive with. Various scooters and bicycles all possible. I wish I was there with you. You make wonderful movies. Today I drove 29 kilometers. My longest trip. In Norway where I live, it is starting to get cold. Only 5 degrees at night. So I have a maximum of 1 month left to drive so it must be stored over the winter. How nice and nice it is where you live. Hot you often say in the movie that it is ?. Do you fly drones too? In the end, there is the use of drones. I'm flying drone DJI. Maybe sometime in the future I will visit you and we will drive together. That would be fantastic. Norway where I live has fantastic nature some of the best in the world. But we have long winters. I love my Zero 10X. Do you have LG 52Volt battery?
Hello my friend!! This was an amazing ride and Im truly thankful to be here where we all celebrate these vehicles! 18 mile ride thats pretty nice, thats about how far this was I think. So it was something like 75 degrees at 5:30 am and 80 something after the sunrise, but California has the worst fires in our countries history right now so our air is extra bad as well. 100 at peak. Also because we live near Northern Pacific Ocean its generally cool so when its that hot it gets extra humid. That with hot temps made this the only ride I could do over the weekend. There was a Ebike Super73 meet up but the air was so bad during the day it wouldn't be enjoyable. I was home and back in bed by 10am this day and quite nice without cars and too many people out. I do fly the drone shots you see in the quick beginning and end, thats my DJI Spark drone. Flown it for a couple years and like its for its portability. Have a skydio on preorder and looking at Mavic 2 Air as well.
Sorry your winter approaches so soon but glad your getting in so many miles now, keep it up!! Not sure if if has the LG battery cells, bought it used and haven't looked to see if there is a marking.Serial # might tell me as well. A man in his 40s was found unconscious. He was transported by helicopter to be put on a respirator. He died today. The newspapers write about this. Do not hope it means that there will be a ban on scooters. In Norway, people love bans and politicians must control everything in detail. I do not like it. People have to think for themselves. But unfortunately we have only been waiting for one death. I'll send you a link from the store I bought my scooters from. This is a shop of 3 different. Wolfwarrior is probably amazing. Or Zero 11X? When you have driven a little, you will always have something that goes faster or better. I'm looking at Dualtron but it may be in a year or two. Do you use protection when driving? I see you have a helmet but do you have anything else? Yes, we see the forest fires on the news. The video you made was incredibly nice. So many to drive with. Various scooters and bicycles wonderful. I have Dji mavic Pro 2 Hasselblad. Have had all the drones Inspire 1 and Phantom. We have many of the same interests. Good weekend to you my friend. So yes I try to wear protection especially on group rides as they become a little more dangerous but on this ride was not wearing to be honest. The jacket I ride with is the lightest I could find with the most protections but is still hot. I was wearing tshirt at 5am and hot and just couldnt do it. Actually have the EXO Helmet as well which I bought 1st and led me to finding the jacket. Helmet is pretty comfortable, good vision, but is a little too quiet meaning I want to hear more road noise and possible cars for safety. People never mention how much sound the helmets let in but for me thats just as important as the vision the helmet gives you. Still a pretty good helmet overall!
@@TheElectricLife Very nice jacket. I only ride with a helmet that is made for skateboards and bicycles. I can not ride with a motorcycle helmet because then I am guaranteed to be stopped by the police. But I also have knee protectors and elbow protectors so I bought a plate for my back. I will start using this.

What mode do you use for longer rides?
You know Jason for group rides I need to keep up and even my own rides I simply want to go as fast as this thing can go....So full power captain no matter how far!! Consequence of simply being raised that way I am but also doing too many kicks ass group rides at BAESK8 for over 2 years and watching the evolution of PEV's!! I do feel like Ive put it in mode 2 before and only got maybe a few more miles out of it so now I just go for it. Full turbo full acceleration full 210 lbs total with gear and always about 20 miles guaranteed.

If you rented the REVEL moped that one could keep up for sure. 0-29 is incredible on those actually!! The lime scooters and such well not so much. For those you could definitely start the ride on the Embarcadero with us where is busier and see how long you can keep up as its the slower part of the ride. Most people dont do the whole ride anyways, the meetup before and halfway point are the main events for most any ride you got all good!!
What gloves you wear ?
Working on a video for the best all around $20 gloves you can buy for PEV's and this one will be revealed to be the best. Nice padding, flexes well, breaths nice, not too hot, and has been tested in my 2 big accidents with one resulting in a broken wrist and the other an almost broken leg accident so they are certified in accidents by me!! Also for me you must have full finger....You may want to look like an 80s movies star but your fingers will be bloody popcorn if you wreck. 2 years and still my fave glove. Heck this sounds like a paid advertisement....Send that check over Joe!!

What's the average speed for these rides?
So on the weekly BAESK8 ride its always people from 20-40mph, 70% staying 30 and below and a few that fly a little faster some times. Catch up points so no-one is left out but with such a big group people who dont know the route can get confused but its all good. Check the FB site that has the map but if you can do 20ish your pretty good. Halloween ride is going to be epic and well be slower in costume so maybe make your 1st an epic ride. Halloween last year was top 3 for sure. Ant-Man will see you there!!
is it true these have trackers on them?
Many riders install apple and other small trackers for theft reasons so yes some scooters may have trackers in them.

Damm i wish this group was in Orlando because I need a scooter club to join & ride with. I'll be up & out the door at 4:45am. I used to live in New York City. I owned a 1200w Lithium Luna scooter at the time. It did almost 30mph which is pretty fast going thru residential neighborhoods. Lived in Brooklyn & Been over the Brooklyn, Manhattan & Williamsburg Bridges 🌉 did some serious exploration in NYC. Now I'm in Orlando & now riding an Out-Storm Maxx with seat. Got about 1000mi+ on it now. So far, I've only had to replace tires & inner tubes. Wish I could afford the Dualtron Storm but with a seat but mannn, Minimotors wants everything u own & limbs too, to own one of their scooters.

So on film we do about 18 or 19 miles. For me add a few for coming and going.
How long does your scooter last on those rides?
So Victor on a big group ride like this basically going full speed the Zero 10x with me at 210lbs(total with gear) gets about 20 miles. For me thats its one weakness, everything else Im really happy with. So many options coming up in 2021 its pretty exciting. Dude it's so funny I work with a bunch of people from Europe and I've shown him these videos from all over the US from Philly New York Miami La Chicago you name it and it was all these different rides on e-bikes E Scooters all that kind of stuff one Wheels Eunice Cycles and I was saying to them how people always criticize America and put us down Inuit with the younger generation you can see they're all riding the e-bikes which is no environmental damage in 25 cents an hour in fuel versus a car at $25 an hour in fuel and you also noticed there's men and women and people of every race In This Crowd so here you have Young Americans of every race and Creed and sex all getting along in an environmentally responsible and friendly way and having a good time all peacefully driving around exploring their beautiful city compare that to other countries in the world right now whether it's three major Wars going on in three different parts of the world all between people who are essentially the same ukrainians fighting Russian slav against slav Palestinians fighting Israelis Semite against Semite and the houthi war in the Red Sea which is our largest naval offensive since World War II and despite all these different countries fighting and killing each other even though they're basically the same population in America we have every race every Creed and every everything and yet basically most people generally speaking get along every day yeah there's always the Springer Show fight the basically out of 350 million people 349 million of them get along every day and I love watching these videos it reminds me of playing Grand Theft Auto but in real life
I love your vids and your rides but please stop running red lights, even when no one is around.

Appreciate the love and the concern we share for our scooters but gotta say I disagree. No one in full gear who we ride with in BAESK8 has sent people to the hospital in the 2 years Ive been the group....Seen rental scooters take out people with my own eyes and see them cause near fatals everywhere. I think if your being practical and you really care for your scoot you start there not with the responsible people doing a 5 am group rides so they CAN ride safely with no one around.
Also always stopping to a complete stop is sometimes not safe at all, so many situations to compare a 80lb scoot to a car that dont translate. They didnt make road rules for escooters and they havent adopted new ones. Stopping at every stop sign and light sometimes is not best. I want space. I run lights for space. Cars appreciate it cause Im away from them. Bikers glad I'm not close now when they roll up as well. And I'm away from cars and bikes and people getting home safely. you never see me endanger anyone else and if I do I usually say my bad on the video. No matter my opinions I hope you find your best and safe way to get home as we all share the same love. Ride on Mr D!

I appreciate the response and passion you have for the riding safely but I unfortunately still disagree with your logic.
You say you run reds and not stop on every sign for safety but this video is clearly in the middle of the night with almost no cars around. I get you mention that there is no way you are going to be hit by a car or injure yourself at these hours. I think that is smart to ride early in the morning for safety.
However you are still breaking the law, regardless how you justify it. If the laws and rules haven't caught up to riding scooters on public roads then my perception is don't ride on them. You shouldn't be riding on public roads with your own perception of what is safe, correct and comfortable.
It's like robbing a bank to give the money to poor people; regardless of the good intention behind the act is still illegal no matter the circumstance.
I would suggest if you feel the road rules haven't caught up to make you feel safe riding on roads without breaking the rules, then don't ride on the roads. Find somewhere made for pedestrians and bikes.
If a cop ever saw this video or wanted to be a proper dick about it they could fine you, no matter your justification. They would say the exact same thing, if you don't feel comfortable following the rules of the road then don't ride on them.
Please don't take this the wrong way, as I totally see your point. This is just my take on the situation and at the end of the day you can do whatever you like.
