In other ways, Zero was more successful in his original purpose than Metal Sonic ever was. Zero managed to destroy a copy of X, and ironically was more human than X sometimes.
@@TerminatorGundam300 it made Zero insanely out of touch with his emotions too. He started to question why he bothers doing what he does in the first place until he focused on just fighting to defend those he cares about but this made him extremely paranoid over who was his friend or not.

It's kinda amusing when Metal Sonic shifts into Metal Overlord and my first thought is, "Ooh! This is right up his alley now!" Because big, giant robots are kinda half his killcount, usually being the first and last boss he kills of a given game.

metal sonic can achieve power higher than base sonic's, but nothing metal has ever achieved surpasses a super form, which is what is needed to handle X or zero.
@@ari_dexel4288 not really, zero can deal with hypersonic opponents and attacks (he can dodge lasers, metal isn't light speed), and zero is much more durable than metal is, so even if the two were equally matched in power, metal would break before zero did.

Then comes back next game X1: does an android 13 X2: ok here he does not die X3: can die if he fights a certain boss X4 survives again but he probably dies on the inside X5 either dies to X or sigma either way he dies And I have not beat X6-8 yet but if we get an X9 he won’t die since X9 would be the last game in the X series to cover the elf wars to go over to the Z series and z series is about zero so he can’t really be dead in a game that would take place before the series about zero
@@antomu In the Mega Man universe, not all mavericks are caused by the Sigma virus or other viral influence like Model W (let's call those „viral mavericks”). The term „maverick” is broader than that in Mega Man X (and let's not talk about how it's nearly a slur against disobedient Reploids in Mega Man Zero) - for example, Repliforce was collectively branded maverick in the intro of X4 after Colonel refused to come in for questioning and fleed when Repliforce was held under suspicion of causing the fall of Sky Lagoon. Basically, Repliforce were political mavericks. Then there are reploids like Vile, who was a psychopath since he was built due to a quirk in his programming, as well as the new generation reploids (most obviously Lumine in X8) who can go maverick at any point on their own - these are moral mavericks. The last category is where any standard „killer robot” like HK-47, Ultron or Metal Sonic would fall in a crossover scenario.

Apparently most people didn’t like how the 3D looked in this, but I personally like a lot and it’s always fun when they mix different animation styles in a fight

Zero. No contest. The most important thing to remember is that Zero is patient zero for that Virus which overrides robot AI programming. Metal Sonic was never designed with anti-AI countermeasures. Also, Wiley made Zero from an alien alloy he stumbled across called Fortenium and Zero is the successful implementation of Fortenium as an internal conductor. This is why X has such a hard time dealing damage to Zero, and can basically only harm him with fully charged Solar powered X-MegaBuster attacks. Great video.

I'd vouch that CapCom Japan already did that for them; Rock, Roll, Rush. Rockman and Rush vs and Forte and Treble Zero and X. After localization: MegaMan, Roll, Rush. Mega and Rush vs Bass and Treble I think there's some extra characters Inafune had no part in making for a game he had no part in making, butwith these alone it just seemed like someone was trying to be cheeky for a promotion.
Remember the previous Death Battle when Metal Sonic beat both his creator, Eggman, AND Wily? If Zero is supposed to be Wily's "final word from beyond the grave", if you think about it, this could actually be considered a sort of posthumous revenge from Dr. Wily.

Not exactly. While wily did create him, zero was never obedient to wily and never helped him out, not to mention that wily died long before zero woke back up and joined the good side
At that point of time it was kinda poor for some reason since they have a ton of videos with 2D/2.5D fights. Plus they had multiple people working on it together. Meanwhile, one guy, goes by the name Ultimate Maverick Hunter X, created a stellar fight scene between X and Zero.
Todd Black well i admit the fight was quite good but to be honest i was expecting a full 3D fight animated by Torrian, dont get me wrong i m not a 3d fanboy or something i also really like the 2D ones and this 1 was fine but, ya know waited like more than 2 months for another 3D one but atleast the next one is probably 3D.
The idea of the Zero Virus was that it would infect any robot that defeated Zero and put them under Wily's control, so he'd always have the strongest robots. Sigma defeated Zero and was infected with the virus, but without any knowledge of who Wily even was, Sigma just went nuts.

this fight was kind of like lex luthor vs tony stark. in this case, Metal sonic was like lex, their weaponry based for one type of opponent. great against their rivals, okay to mediocre to everyone else.

I know this is old but i just need to say, if it was archie's neo metal sonic, he would probably give zero a hard time at least, considering he was stronger, faster and more durable than sonic, who was faster than light and could resist getting thrown around dimensions and landing in a planet at full speed, all in his base form.
Zero was designed to surpass Mega Man, yes, but as evidenced by his work as a Maverick Hunter, he has absolutely no trouble adapting to new opponents all the time. For crying out loud, Metal Sonic is basically just another day at the office for Zero.
Aung Zaw I'm half joking. Zero is widely considered to be a top 3 character in Marvel vs Capcom 3 at a competitive level, is indisputably top 1 in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and tends to be superior to Megaman in most Megaman X games in terms of capabilities as a playable character. Somehow Zero just doesn't know how to not be a ridiculously strong character in every medium he shows up in.

Death battle has this predictable trend of calculating the losers feats more than the winner. So when they didn’t measure the space station that zero destroyed that was the size of the meteor that killed the dinosaurs I already knew they decided who won.
Let me just point out that Wiley designed a weapon so advanced that after 300 years of technological evolution he still made the rest of the world's tech obsolete.
Also, I have seen the internet. Renamon vs Lucario? the furries are going to have a blast (not to kink-shame, of course!) And you can NOT involve trainers and tamers in this. Renamon would be stoppable then.
There's a reason why Zero is called the ultimate weapon, the null, the omega, the end of all ends. A creation so notorious it killed its own creator upon activation. Dr. Light did not created a weapon, he created an unlimited energy source, sort of like a clear nuclear reactor without the decay.

@@Hazatroll Well, they're both amongst the most powerful characters in their respective series, they've been both good and evil at least once in their lives, and they've also served as mentors to X and Kirby. I wouldn't recommend it if swords were their only connection.

Kirby characters are hard to place. Even Dedede's battle with Wario acknowledged this, so they went the safe route and onlt had them at Large Planet and FTL. With those stats, Zero destroys Meta Knight, but if they give Meta Knight MFTL+ speed via scaling from Kirby and possibly the power to wipe solar systems then it's an easy stomp for Meta. It really just comes down to DB's interpretation
I honestly was kinda disappointed by the animation style on this one, unfortunate as Zero is my favorite character in all of fiction. Really glad at least somebody out there knew command mission was a thing though.

That may be the case, but Zero never really surpassed X. But instead had a hand on the latter's improvement, and only lived longer due to cryostasis. Also, if one actually stops to think about their feats, Metal Sonic generally fights in a greater scale than Zero. Even if Zero is more powerful than base Metal, he has no feats that matches Metal Overlord (who can fight 3 suped up Sonic heroes, when each are at least planetary). The Black and Absolute forms in contrast are just double multipliers and thus shouldn't match up.
Zetto Vii True, but take time to think about it. While Metal Sonic in general would surpass zero (maybe in brute strength but we know from the video zero is WAYYYYY faster), he doesn't really have a lot of weapons. He focuses on hand combat and occasionally range moves, but that's about it. Unless he copies, he doesn't really have a lot of range and close up moves. Zero(base form and no special weapons) has Z-Buster and Z-Saber, which are his most versatile moves in his arsenal. Although Metal Sonic can just block using Black Shield, he lacks offensive moves to counter it. Metal Sonic may win over Zero in strength but he can't take full advantage of it.
I think you miss one important detail here. Metal Sonic is not exactly what it look like. He is a Gizmoid (alien robot) modified by Julian Robotnik (Eggman Nega) with use of knowledge from future. He only look like Sonic because it was designed to defeat Sonic, but the thing is that his main ability is to copy abilities of other robots as he basically is a swarm. Metal Overlord from is exact prove of that. Even if Metal struggle fighting with Sonic who is not a robot (plus his goal is to prove that he is better then Sonic in being a.. well.. Sonic what is true reason why he screw so many times as he never use his true power). In fight with android he has huge advantage as he basically can rip all Zero powers. Furthermore because of his nature he is almost indestructible (it only stuck on Little Planet what give Ivo time to invent way to take control over him) so it would be just matter of time until he get final blow. And Zero virus (one what created Sigma) don't work on robots without AI designed by Light.

Metal Sonic was designed specifically to kill Sonic and his friends and, while a formidable opponent, has failed at just about every turn. Zero, on the other hand, has faced and adapted to countless robots--some of whom could copy abilities, like Metal Sonic--and beaten them all.

Well Zero has a lot outside of his sword. Plus we aren't going to get so many Fire Emblem Characters next time around (there was only so many because they thought FE was going to end as a series if it didn't get the sales.) Also Mecha King, only problem with those examples is that they are ALL zoners, mid-long distance fighters. Swords are just close range. (Except Link the Zoner.) So no more would be a bit of a shame.
Anon Falco Nintendo got what they wanted. By having more FE characters on the game, the games did sale. Perhaps not as a direct result but I am happy now that FE is no longer an extremely underrated game series from Melee, now it's one of Nintendo's current money-maker, whether people agree or not that awakening and Fates were good game. Now Gaiden got a remake, which I haven't played it yet but looks really cool. Along with a possible remake of Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia in the future. I know people think it was wrong for Nintendo to route more characters from a game series just for a marketing ploy, but money is money and every business will do this. Not only that but I am a huge fan of FE as well. So by doing that, it practically saved the series, which as a result means more FE games for me to play in the future. If Nintendo wanted to, they could make a Smash Bros. Fighter Version using only FE characters from the first games all the way to the latest one. I'd still give my money away.

The term „maverick” is broader than that in Mega Man X (and let's not talk about how it's nearly a slur against disobedient Reploids in Mega Man Zero) - for example, Repliforce was collectively branded maverick in the intro of X4 after Colonel refused to come in for questioning and fleed when Repliforce was held under suspicion of causing the fall of Sky Lagoon. Basically, Repliforce were political mavericks. Then there are reploids like Vile, who was a psychopath since he was built due to a quirk in his programming, as well as the new generation reploids (most obviously Lumine in X8) who can go maverick at any point on their own - these are moral mavericks. The last category is where any standard „killer robot” like HK-47, Ultron or Metal Sonic would fall in a crossover scenario.

The most important thing to remember is that Zero is patient zero for that Virus which overrides robot AI programming. Metal Sonic was never designed with anti-AI countermeasures.
Also, Wiley made Zero from an alien alloy he stumbled across called Fortenium and Zero is the successful implementation of Fortenium as an internal conductor. This is why X has such a hard time dealing damage to Zero, and can basically only harm him with fully charged Solar powered X-MegaBuster attacks.

Kirby characters are hard to place. Even Dedede's battle with Wario acknowledged this, so they went the safe route and onlt had them at Large Planet and FTL. With those stats, Zero destroys Meta Knight, but if they give Meta Knight MFTL+ speed via scaling from Kirby and possibly the power to wipe solar systems then it's an easy stomp for Meta.
It really just comes down to DB's interpretation

Zero's entire arsenal is meant to be stronger than enemies EXACTLY like Metal Sonic. Very good fight nonetheless
That may be the case, but Zero never really surpassed X. But instead had a hand on the latter's improvement, and only lived longer due to cryostasis. Also, if one actually stops to think about their feats, Metal Sonic generally fights in a greater scale than Zero. Even if Zero is more powerful than base Metal, he has no feats that matches Metal Overlord (who can fight 3 suped up Sonic heroes, when each are at least planetary). The Black and Absolute forms in contrast are just double multipliers and thus shouldn't match up.
Zetto Vii True, but take time to think about it. While Metal Sonic in general would surpass zero (maybe in brute strength but we know from the video zero is WAYYYYY faster), he doesn't really have a lot of weapons. He focuses on hand combat and occasionally range moves, but that's about it. Unless he copies, he doesn't really have a lot of range and close up moves. Zero(base form and no special weapons) has Z-Buster and Z-Saber, which are his most versatile moves in his arsenal. Although Metal Sonic can just block using Black Shield, he lacks offensive moves to counter it. Metal Sonic may win over Zero in strength but he can't take full advantage of it.
I think you miss one important detail here. Metal Sonic is not exactly what it look like. He is a Gizmoid (alien robot) modified by Julian Robotnik (Eggman Nega) with use of knowledge from future. He only look like Sonic because it was designed to defeat Sonic, but the thing is that his main ability is to copy abilities of other robots as he basically is a swarm. Metal Overlord from is exact prove of that. Even if Metal struggle fighting with Sonic who is not a robot (plus his goal is to prove that he is better then Sonic in being a.. well.. Sonic what is true reason why he screw so many times as he never use his true power). In fight with android he has huge advantage as he basically can rip all Zero powers. Furthermore because of his nature he is almost indestructible (it only stuck on Little Planet what give Ivo time to invent way to take control over him) so it would be just matter of time until he get final blow. And Zero virus (one what created Sigma) don't work on robots without AI designed by Light.

Startrainer 64 smash all ready has enough swordsmen no more for a while
Well Zero has a lot outside of his sword. Plus we aren't going to get so many Fire Emblem Characters next time around (there was only so many because they thought FE was going to end as a series if it didn't get the sales.) Also Mecha King, only problem with those examples is that they are ALL zoners, mid-long distance fighters. Swords are just close range. (Except Link the Zoner.) So no more would be a bit of a shame.

Anon Falco Nintendo got what they wanted. By having more FE characters on the game, the games did sale. Perhaps not as a direct result but I am happy now that FE is no longer an extremely underrated game series from Melee, now it's one of Nintendo's current money-maker, whether people agree or not that awakening and Fates were good game. Now Gaiden got a remake, which I haven't played it yet but looks really cool. Along with a possible remake of Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia in the future.
I know people think it was wrong for Nintendo to route more characters from a game series just for a marketing ploy, but money is money and every business will do this. Not only that but I am a huge fan of FE as well. So by doing that, it practically saved the series, which as a result means more FE games for me to play in the future.
If Nintendo wanted to, they could make a Smash Bros. Fighter Version using only FE characters from the first games all the way to the latest one. I'd still give my money away.
