Whitebaiting The Mouth | 3rd Oct 2021

A full day whitebaiting at the mouth of the Waikanae river. I caught nothing for most of the day but as the tide started to lift the bait came.

Nice vid man.....pretty sure the way your walking up to the net is called "herding" and herding bait in nz is illegal???

Thanks! Not sure where you saw that rule though as I have always fished like this and never been told otherwise. I've also just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find that rule on DOC sites and can't see it, so I dont think its illegal.

Nevermind I just found the rule and had no idea but from now on will not continue to herd the bait into the net. Thanks for the heads up, I'm glad I found out although it took me awhile to find it online and it should probably be more clearer but thanks for letting me know!

Shot bro. Yeah mate the tide comes in hard and brings all that crap and sticks and stuff but I just fish right till I can't then move back where it's slightly better unless there's no bait then I head home
