Yeah, it is a bit dull this year. I thought it was because Wales weren't in it tho and the big teams were being too defensive. The smaller teams have been the better to watch this time
I wonder what the solution could be to such small offside positions on VAR... The thing is it is objective wether the player is behind or in front of the line, but how can you determine how much "offside" is okay? Is it a foot? 3/4 of a foot? Ultimately it would come down to the ref and i imagine a lot of people getting upset if a goal is called when the player was objectively over the line.

I might be a little bit biased because I’m portuguese and a huge Ronaldo fan, but I have to strongly disagree when you say he shouldn’t start due to not pulling the defenders the right way. I don’t know if you’ve watched any of Portugal’s games but a huge factor on why he’s not scoring is that he’s playing as a pivot and literally has every single defender on him, with that being said, we just don’t have another natural finisher in our squad, that’s why we can’t actually capitalize on Ronaldo’s excellent positioning which I can assure does atract the defenders quite a lot. Bruno Fernandes has been playing terribly, losing the ball in midfield and not helping on defense, I do not think we should focus our attack on him. Ronaldo is obviously not as explosive as he used to be, but he’s still a top class poacher, I think he played great against Slovenia getting a lot of chances but the defenders were marking him perfectly, he was just very unlucky to get his penalty saved (great save) and that the team can’t take advantage of the way he pulls the defenders away from his teammates
The Ronaldo free kicks were extremely poor I think maybe he will retire from international football soon, he even cried at how much worse he is now. He can still be top goalscorer in the world in Saudi League level competition.
If you (austrians) touch young Turkish players’ honors in an unimportant friendly game few months ago, their brothers (first squad of Turkey) hurt your feelings bad in official games. Last time i closed my TV, Austrian players were crying
