I love love love this series and hope you do it forever! It's so satisfying to see you just say "actually...we're unhauling BYE". It reminds me of Becca and the Books's Shelve It or Scrap It series which is also soooo satisfying The problem with using Goodreads to determine genre and age group is that those results on the page are crowd sourced from user created shelves, and lbr the people are often wrong lol. If it's written by a woman, it's YA, right??? so yeah, just knowing the US imprints will help bc yes, Harper Voyager is adult, and so is Godkiller, as is The Book Eaters. The people also don't know the difference between fantasy and sci fi either apparently

Only 3 minutes in and I'm just going to say Expanse is one of my favorite sci-fi series ever!! Both the books and show. The show fed everything I want from a series. Just bought the dvds as it's a comfort watch and I know some day they'll take it off streaming❤

It's just a whole series that you can really get lost into the world they've built. It's just done so well and so much going on that you can get more out of it each time you read it. Apologies if this is covered in your other videos and I'm just clueless! I'm curious if you've tried to read some of the more genre fantasy Romance like Song of Blood and Stone by L. Penelope or Amanda Bouchet and how that compares to the kind of KU wave of "Romantasy" you've been reading. Also I couldn't tell when you were describing the balance of plot vs. remember you liked if you would be a fan of romantic fantasy like Mercedes Lackey, Sharon Shinn, etc.

Books like Ice Planet Barbarians are perfect after (or parallel to) bleak and heavy books like 1984 or The Book of the Unnamed Midwife. Just some cozy romance to make you laugh because it's so ridiculous, before you go back to depressing reads. However, I totally agree that it's best read on kindle.

The last one in the Defy the Night Trilogy is my favorite of the three! I highly recommend the whole series for a fun, YA fantasy time.
