    Chris's use of the phrase "So what I'm hearing from you is," followed by a paraphrase of his understanding of Jose's comments, needs to be explicitly appreciated. That phrase (and those like it) have solved most of my miscommunication problems in all areas of business. I love your videos.

      Warren Hull thanks for pointing it out. By repeating back what you heard and summarizing you confirm that you are listening and validate the other person. I learned this from my therapist.

    Wow! This was recorded like in 2015s and its still lot informative and fun to watch. I followed the whole "The Process" series and it was great for someone like me who is deciding to transition from being a frontend developer to become a Product Manager or a higher role. Thank you very much guys, learning is much more immersive experience with this duo!

      ***** that is the question. I'm always asking my audience for questions as well. My one question would be "What are some strategies for branding on social media?"

    • @ChrisDo
      @ChrisDo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      What aspect of branding for social are you referring to? Do you mean how to use social to brand yourself, content marketing,
      Etc..?

      Hey Chris Do, I consult with a lot of my clients about the importance of having a strong digital footprint. I would love to hear your guy's views on how to differentiate yourself against all the noise on social media.

    Great content once again guys. Yes it would be awesome if you made review on The Lean Startup. I bought it a few weeks ago along with Tim Brown s design thinking. I still havent started reading it cause im afraid it might be a bit too "businessy" for a me as a graphic designer.

      You're Welcome! Here's my question though. As you know that startups in pre-funding stage almost never have any money. They do realise the importance of good design but they can't pay. How do you tackle this? One way I could think of is to take an equity in the startup, but you can't do that for every project. What has worked for you so far in this regards?

    • @thefutur
      @thefutur 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Aman Thind I totally agree. That's why I typically don't work with startups pre-funding. Jose has a different take on this so I'll let him chime in.

    • @amanthind4591
      @amanthind4591 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Any comments from Jose on this? Startups is a big market and if one can find the trick to balance the risks, it might all be worth it.

      Chris Do I think this last year you've created a type of "audience filter" and now aligned yourselves with a particular niche that truly values your content. IMO, you've done this via the depth and breadth of your topics. Designers looking for "tutorials" will complain and exit, whilst design entrepreneurs will continue to be attracted and engage. You guys are doing a great work! :)

    The problem of working with startups is that they are like soap bubbles. You can't be sure that they will be around when until the work is done. They can go bankrupt. Since you don't know their finances, you need to make sure you get your money when the work is done. The company may be gone in a few weeks/months, and you can't get anything since the owners are liablaty is limited (that's what LLC for in US). Be sure that to get prepaid as much as possible, or get personal contract instead of the company. You don't need to share the high risks they are taking to get rich, because you don't get to share the profit when the business booms.

    Hey guys! So at 00:13:20 Jose Caballer displays User Onboarding Prompts in the Hunuku example. These are guides to educate the user on how to properly use the website or mobile application. It could also contribute to a higher customer retention rate. The bottom line... the easier it is for the user to understand how to fully utilize your app, the better the experience, usually resulting in positive word of mouth about your product.
