Hua ChunRan is okay, however, she's too manipulative and lacks the wisdom perse (just wants the crown and popularity, I don't even remember if she ever mentioned about caring for her people, all she cared about was her reputation, and she fought the battle as if no lives were on the line). Although every scene in the finale fits every shoe, that does not mean that they're the right ones. I even prefer Qi Wu as the empress. I have no problem with Huang Chao being emperor tho, he deserves it as he wants it. All in all, the drama is 👌👌. The sacrifice they made in the end involves Lanxi having only 10 years left to live, XiYun wants an unrestrained life, and Huang Chao wanting the throne so much. Everything is perfect, but not ChunRan, I think Huang Chao is just fulfilled his promise when they were young, which is to make Chunran wear the crown, but it doesn't mean that she fits the role. (FOR ME) This is just my opinion tho🥰

As evident from Langxi's mother's fate that you can be most benevolent empress but will get ganked by people who are manipulative and cruler than you are. Being empress doesn't always mean you have to be the peak of piousness. It would never work. Chunran is just manipulative and clever enough on her own part to be the empress. She is the perfect foil to Huang Chao. They both needed each other as well as to keep each in check. Huang Chao would remember BFX's warning to him that he mustn't be too proud and would treat Chuan ran as an equal going forward , part of which he has already showed during their interactions in the end but wasnt explored or rather edited out I believe. As for BFX and Lanxi, they were never in it for the throne to begin with. All BFX ever wanted was lasting peace and Lanxi's priority changed when met her. As you put it was just fitting. I also believe that he would live longer than 10 years as they still have that flower that blooms every once in a decade given by that grandpa from trial from Mount Wu. So it is not all too a sad ending. Just open ended a bit.

I watched both who rules the world and love like the galaxy one after another. I prefer this one. I felt the story of who rules the world was just better and all the side characters and main characters gave it their best, especially the negative characters
