How To Read Frames / What To Look For 🐝 First Inspection Nuc & Package Hives

A week after installing our five frame nuc and package bees hive it’s time to perform our first hive inspection. Our goal is to see if the bees have accepted the queen and started to draw out the foundation, find eggs, larvae and capped brood, nectar, pollen and capped honey.
For this first inspection, we suggest wearing some level of depending on your experience with beekeeping, you may be comfortable with minimal coverage or no coverageat all like we are showing in this video. During this first inspection especially for the beginning beekeepers we suggest erring on the side of caution.
