- Six Flags is building a super park in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia's entertainment mega project located just outside of the capital city Riyadh. Six Flags Qiddiya will open with several record-breaking attractions, including Falcon's Flight - the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in the world.

Americans aren't going to travel in droves to go to Saudi Arabia, just to visit a theme park. A lot of what many Americans engage in or find fun while on vacation, isn't permissible there. That's why there isn't more hype about it.
Putting an outdoor theme park in a place that's hotter than Satan's butthole probably isn't that great of an idea.
There is a reason why Disney and Universal don't build parks in the Middle East. They don't have the market for it.
If it is really that good, millions of people will fly out every year to visit

Falcons flight will never AND I MEAN NEVER open and if it does it would be a mechanical nightmare. I can’t IMAGINE how many repairs would happen IN A DAY

@@fadbob_ Nobody cares about world records. Top thrill 1 was shorter than kinda ka but is a better ride. Taller and faster don't mean anything if the ride quality is not good. Disney and universal don't have any world record roller coasters, but people still flock there
@@remyd8767 Rosa broke the speed record with more prime ride time and sustained forces. Falcons flight will do the same with an even longer layout that will be even better than Rosa. Yes stats most of the time aren't everything, but in this case they want to make sure the ride is simply better than the last.

Even if this park does come to fruition, it will be very unlikely to feature all of the record breaking rides as stated. Maybe one or two come to be.

Explanation:so basically, six flags tried to build a big theme park like that but it failed. They’ve been working on it for a long time but people believe that it’s gonna fail too.
I’m sure within that agreement states that records reflecting speed, length and height can not be broken outside of Saudi Arabia once the theme park is built.
That won't stop cedar fair in their pursuit to hold all the records.

The worry seems to be that it will close down because of how the previous Dubai projects went and also with Six Flags being near bankruptcy several times and even having it happen once. The project is so ambitious and no one thinks it will happen. Given this, The Saudi Public Investment Fund is way more trustworthy with better stable income than the Dubai builders. Their records may not be as extreme (I’m not so sure Falcons Flight will end up being so long) as projects claiming such records have been in the past (one that comes to mind is the coaster that was supposed to be the fastest but ended up being 99 mph only and is now defunct ish) but I believe it will open and I believe many records will be broken and I believe this can be the best park in the world

I would not feel comfortable going to a theme park in a country with a terrible human rights record, especially as the construction would be using what we would call slave labour.

Why its not being talked about is because usually amusement parks in the middle east (I think saudi is middle east) don’t really get a lot of traction, also Saudi Arabia kinda sucks with protecting people and its way too freakin hot there

Its NOT bigger news because nobody thinks its actually gonna get built. But I’ve seen the construction photos. Some of the track is erected already and that station is being built… they are really building this behemoth. I cant wait to see footage of them test running it in a few months
It got canceled twice. One Time in 2010, and one in 2019

Though they have a crap load of money many middle eastern projects have been canceled before. Including note label projects such as the Jeddah Tower which I think was canned in general. I think this will get built or mostly built but falcons flight I think won’t get completely built and modified to be smaller probably just a large Giga to a small strata coaster which is still gigantic but not as big as the 600ft we were told was to to happen. Also this thing, if built like how they say it will be, is going to probably be one of the most unreliable coasters ever built and I don’t see it lasting that long if completed.
Might want to read up on Jeddah Tower again.

One: six flags is building this with selim at ceo so he is not going to continue with this project even if he gets funding
Two: The coasters and renderings in the video are extremely unrealistic with models never being built or designed by any coaster manufacturer
Three: The UAE is known to plan extremely large and ambitious mega projects that never get completed, this is the definition of one of these projects so it will never happen
I agree with all these points especially #2 and Idk much about #1. Though those Uae builders didn’t have nearly as much money and funding for the projects and the SPIF is much more reliable and deep pocketed for this
The Saudi Investment fund is paying for the whole thing. Six Flags wont own the park, just operate it. Saudi Arabia is not the UAE.

Just to be true, the new coaster is too risky. You would need all manufacturer to approve this, it is way too dangerous, too costly to maintain, the forces you will take can be very dangerous.
I wouldn't hop on it, unless it was actually approved by biggest ones like Intamin.

As a coaster lover I love the idea but the only problem I’m very young but love the enjoyment but I don’t live anywhere near Saudi so I don’t think I will be riding these unfortunately 😢☹️
