I have been watching this drama play out, and praying that JoAnns would find a solution. My heart is breaking. JoAnns was my calming place, the place that I went for all my fabric and yarn. I no longer live in the US, but I always knew that when I returned, we (mom and I, and possibly a sister or two) would make a trip to JoAnns.
It’s very sad for everyone who uses fabric. Who is there alternative? Where do they go now? I used to take my mom and we would load up on fabric, she was the quilter. I was in denial until I saw the sign posted on the front door for everyone to see.
I'm so sad about Joann's. Generations of my family have gone there for classes, for sewing machine repair, and of course for craft supplies. I'm really sad to see it go. And as someone who works retail a just a regular employee, it's not wrong at all to question whether you're getting accurate info from the regular employees because nobody really tells us anything and a lot of it is internal rumor and while we do our best to accurately answer customers' questions a lot of the times unless you get it from someone like a store manager it's just our best guess at the time. And when it comes to store closures with chain stores, even the store managers might be kept in the dark until almost the last minute themselves. I don't work in craft stores, I've always worked at grocery stores but I have worked at stores that closed down before and usually regular employees don't know that much more than the customers until there's an announcement. That said, I'm excited to see that you use Arcane Fibre Works yarn! I love them! My favorite places to get non-acrylic yarns are Arcane Fibre Works and Expression Fiber Arts! I love that sweater, too, and I'd love to know where to get the pattern!
I definitely don’t want them to go. I’ve been stocking up like I don’t already have a lifetime supply of yarn. The pattern is Scandens by Marie Amelie Designs Free pattern on Ravelry I’ve completed 2 sweaters in Arcane Fiber with a 3rd on the needles now. It’s fabulous
I bought some k&c hand painted sock yarn. Supposed to arrive today. I must say, when your phone was slipping and you were moving to stay in frame, I was laughing so much. You are so spontaneous! 😍
The downstairs area may look nice and neat in comparison to upstairs but the lighting is off and sound bounces off the walls. Upstairs is lines with yarn, better sound quality, it’s what I tell myself anyway 😊
After avoiding the panic buying watching all the videos, you finally got me with the hand painted sock wool. I've never seen it at my store. Also subbed and look forward to seeing what you make. Let's empty the stock before the liquidators get there, lol

I really wanted to show these hanks as I believe most people haven’t seen them and would potentially be interested in them. These were not in any of the Colorado stores.

Joann’s has gotten so frustrating as of late. The online store inventory doesn’t match what is put on the shelves. I haven’t seen a sign on the door yet but that sounds pretty final. So sad.
I was at a store in Florida and they told me the store would be closing in March. I couldn’t believe it! Most of my Christmas presents and many new decorations came from JOANN, and I had plans to make more. 😢

I haven’t taken a ride to my Joann’s to see what is happening there. I’m a touchy feely person so I like to touch and feel the yarn. I bet this mess started with the COVID. All the craft stores did so well because a lot of people started working from home and learning/ doing crafts so their profits went up. Now people are back to work and sales dropped , not as much crafting. Joann’s has been around for ages. It’s just terrible. I really love your sweater. I live in FL so don’t wear them much. I have a couple patterns for a cardigan. I crochet but NEVER EVEN ATTEMPTED CLOTHING. I’m afraid to purchase enough yarn to make or try to make a cardigan and create a big mess😢. Thank you for the code! Hopefully didn't break tge bank too much, but I was like, I should at least see if they have anything I would already have on my list. Wound up ordering 3 cones of sugar and cream cotton in white and 12 balls of big twist favorite cotton also in white. The colors weren't appealing, but I figure I can dye white to anything I want. And Amazon cotton was showing at 20 or 30 something depending on the color, so instead I've got 3 years worth of dishcloth yarn to play with plus enough for another cardigan or a sweater.
I ordered the BT Menagerie because it reminded me visually of the BT Party. I loved the Party yarn. I stocked up about a year ago as it was going out, and I still have enough to make one blanket. Anyhow, I agree, the feel is totally different, but both are nice and soft. The Menagerie feels more like a thinner Mandala Ombre, which happens to me one of my favs to work with. But as I am a worsted weight girl, I do wish it was a bit thicker. I'm not sure I'm loving the scattered colors in the blanket I'm making right now, but I did put in a second order to get a few more while I can.
I’m working on a very chaotic color crochet blanket right now. All sock yarns that don’t really match each other 😆. I’m enjoying the Menagerie a lot. I’m happy I was able to grab more before it sold out.

Devastating! I shopped at JoAnn's for allllllll my yarn. I can't do Hobby Lobby because of their politics. My Michaels is terrible for yarn. Ugh, this is just so awful.
I have two Michael's here in Anchorage Alaska. They have very acceptable yarn options but not as good as joann so I'll have to become a loops and threads fan...

I tried to order for delivery over a week ago and I placed the order only to see the next day it was cancelled. I did order online for pick up and was able to do that but it definitely doesn't look good.

Iremember having to make 3 full size afhgans, 3 sweater in any stitch except stockinet!! And I beleve, if memory serves me right we had to make a shawl and a pair of socks!! All those had to be done in 7 Days. Then we had to box them up and send them to England to be judged , then they were all sent back with our certificate!!! I taught many people how to knit and crochet!!! Back then I coulf read and understand any pattern !! Now I just recieved 3 sweater book and read through the patterns and most of them don't make any sense so I went back to Elizabeth Zimmermens way of making sweater and i am hoping the one for my sister won't be too big but she says she wants it oversized, I think it will be!!! I would love it if you would do a simple vanilla sock tutorial. I knit and crochet, but have really wanted to knit socks for awhile!

My fav yarn has been big twist!! I can’t believe they’re going oob!!!! I guess this will b a hobby I will drop now after I’ve picked it again. The other big box stores are more expensive . I will prob sell my yarns that I don’t use so sad

Devastating! I shopped at JoAnn's for allllllll my yarn. I can't do Hobby Lobby because of their politics. My Michaels is terrible for yarn. Ugh, this is just so awful.

I have two Michael's here in Anchorage Alaska. They have very acceptable yarn options but not as good as joann so I'll have to become a loops and threads fan...

We are now in clearance price territory with the coupon. I think once the liquidation team gets ahold of JoAnn there will be no more coupons and the prices will go up before going down. Get it while you can if you are interested in more.
I tried to order for delivery over a week ago and I placed the order only to see the next day it was cancelled. I did order online for pick up and was able to do that but it definitely doesn't look good.

I am sorry I put knitting on hold to venture into the world of quilt making!!! I can' t get my fingers to work as well anymore!!n I used to be termed a master knitter back in the day when we had to complete many Items in a very short frame of time which I did!! Iremember having to make 3 full size afhgans, 3 sweater in any stitch except stockinet!! And I beleve, if memory serves me right we had to make a shawl and a pair of socks!! All those had to be done in 7 Days. Then we had to box them up and send them to England to be judged , then they were all sent back with our certificate!!! I taught many people how to knit and crochet!!! Back then I coulf read and understand any pattern !! Now I just recieved 3 sweater book and read through the patterns and most of them don't make any sense so I went back to Elizabeth Zimmermens way of making sweater and i am hoping the one for my sister won't be too big but she says she wants it oversized, I think it will be!!! Yes, I got those hand painted yarns for $4.98 a hank. The bulk discount kicked in because I got 10 of the Cranberry Swirl. For that price I just had to get a sweater quantity of them, they were practically giving it away.

I’ve received everything I’ve ordered but I get your concern. You can dispute a charge on your credit card too if that were to happen.
They canceled an order I placed two weeks ago. My card wasn't charged (they said they don't charge until your order ships).
