I just saw 8 Broadway Shows in 6 days and this was the only show that did not get a standing ovation because it was so terrible. I've gotten so used to immediate standing ovations regardless of the quality of the show on Broadway that I just expected it to automatically happen here. It didn't. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, have read the books multiple times and have seen the entire series of moves 3 times and love them all. This was horrible and an affront to Harry Potter fans.
I was surprised by no standing ovation either. But I think the special effects were the best part of the show, the story and acting were not very good. There were people near me who weren’t HP fans, people on their phone, people coughing nonstop (no mask), people talking, kids whining. It was not a very good experience and I spent $200+ 😞
