man I feel as though you guys went into this show never wanting to give it a chance. I just don't see all the awful things the wider audience did. I really liked this duo (aramayo does such a excellent job at simultaneously portraying strength, vulnerability, intellect, humility, he's doing his big one with this character!). but also nori, poppy and gandalf/stranger. I loved seeing the politics of numenor (elendil was fantastic imo). the elf guards were also interesting. i loved galadriel's personal struggles as well. I thought it was really good. But what do I know? I just think we're too quick to hate certain things, instead of appreciating what they are.
For the sheer amount of money put into it this show was dissapointing but the music & the overview of numeneor were magnificent, dwarf scenes were great, elrond was decent and Galadriel's kinda pretty even if a little one dimensional.
@@glassbottle15 i feel they could have fleshed the elves out more deeply particular gil galad and made numenors storyline more profound rather than' they tuk err jubs' the minute one elf arrives. I feel that the approach taken to Sauron/the southlands was a little odd and the proto-hobbits weren't necessary and cost savings could have been made there Of course I'm not a director so this is just off the top of my head. basically fewer storylines but deeper ones.
@ okay, fair enough. i liked the series quite a bit so it’s hard for me to see ppl’s issues with it other than them saying it wasn’t good. i think the took our jobs thing is a fair storyline, considering how the real world is currently going, that’s a pretty deep topic, but as you said maybe delve into why one elf caused that kind of fear. Also, I loved the hobbits stories, how it showed why lotr hobbits kind of don’t take on the outside world too much, if you don’t bother ppl they generally won’t bother you mentality.

The music, sets, design aesthetic and just overall atmosphere of this show were great. Too bad the writing fell so flat 😢
