    Mike, your enthusiasm is infectious, yet you're the consummate professional in your reviews! I found your channel about a month ago while searching for a suitable microphone to use while streaming. I actually ended up getting a Rode NT-USB (something I don't think you've reviewed yet), but the price was an absolute steal. While I have no intention of doing voice-over work, I've learned a tonne from your videos all the same. You're a joy to watch, and I look forward to seeing you in my subscription feed.

      @@lara-lg4by No, not bad by any means. You just wont get as much bass. Ofcourse you could get really close to the mic and take advantage of the proximity effect and get some more low frequencies in your recording. I'd say, go for it. Learn its strengths and weaknesses and you will be fine.

    The AT2035 has been my go-to starter VO mic for years, but the LCT 240 Pro at $150 mic will be considered now after your great review. You do a wonderful job educating your viewers, Mike. Yes, the LCT is slightly higher in self-noise, but unless you have a studio as quiet as yours, you're unlikely to notice this. They both definitely need pop filters or extremely good mic technique, especially the LCT which has a very open screen. I heard some plosives on that mic.

    Wonderful to see you, and I'm so glad Lewitt picked you up!!!! A gift of continuing giving. :-) I do find the Lewitt to be more "airy." There's more space around the sound. Might not be what the artist wants as it's not as "personal" per se, but I love the consistency of the Lewitt. Something common to their mics. Keep the vids coming!

    Personally I find that the Lewitt mics makes the speaker sound like you're standing in front of me. Call it presence, or whatever. Two mics can be nearly identical, but for some reason Lewitt just sounds like you're there. I can't wait for the rest of the lineup. I'm glad they reached out to you. I think this is a huge untapped market for them. When I bought the Lewitt 550 which you now own (C'est la vie), I could find one VO guy recording with a Lewitt, and that was hard to find. No local studios in my area had Lewitt. I honestly don't know why. The presence to me is unmatched given all other things equal. I've even recorded classical guitar and singing with it. Still amazing. With a good pair of speakers, and you close your eyes, you'd swear the person was in front of you. I'm so happy Lewitt reached out to you!!!!

    So after watching your review I ordered the Lewitt back in March. I swear it just arrived (August) because of Covid. So you can imagine my excitement! At first it was amazing but the mic noise is so high I can’t use it. I don’t think it’s the best for VO because if the mic noise and it’s hotter for a female voice. I have tried everything. I went back to my dynamic Sennheiser. Sad face. I’m still hanging on to it just in case I figure something out.

  • @SoundJudgment
    @SoundJudgment 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The AT2035 has a High-Pass filter switch, not to change the characteristic of the Human Voice, because it operates at a VERY low audio-frequency range. Much lower than general voices go. It is there to stop ROOM Base-Rumble or A/C low-end hum mechanical noises, which many poor (non-professional) sound-environments have in the background. This Low-Cut audio-filter is a nice feature for a $100+ Mic to include.

  • @armandoarellano6405

    I got the 2035 before this video. I wish I went with the LCT 240Pro. The AT2035 is richer in the low end but has a lot of harshness in my opinion. The 240Pro is more neutral and clean, which I prefer since it's easier to work with in post as an audio engineer. Keep in mind guys that room treatment comes first if you're thinking about getting a condenser mic like these (or if you're ok with recording in a closet).

    Hey Mike, thanks for this review. I have an audio-technica AT2035 that I purchased new about 7 years ago. At that time, I also bought an M-Track M-Audio interface to do voice work. A few months ago, I started podcasting and got them both out of the box to use. Unfortunately, the mic was producing unusually low bass tones. I tried unsuccessfully to fix the problem. I just recently ordered a Focusrite Scarlet Solo Audio interface to replace the M-Track interface. Hoping that the Focusrite will produce brighter, more natural sounding tones for my podcasts.

    Hi, which microphone is better amongst AT 2035, lewitt lct 240, MXL 770, Tascam 180, AKG p 420, Se electronics x1. Specifically for FEMALE ALTO VOCALS . Looking for a nice frequency response and low self noise. hoping to receive a reply.

    Between the lewitt lct 240 pro and the rode nt1 , which would be better for voice over? My voice can get to be similar to yourse (deep, bassy), and i want to avoid any posible sibilance, but at the same time to sound clear, smooth and warm

    Not sure if its the camera angle but it looks like you're speaking closer to the AT2035 hence it sounds louder and with more bass.
