Chef Lorious I just had to come back on here and give you your props. I went home and put those scallops in a salt brine for 10 minutes, rinsed and put them in a bowl of ice, then patted dry. I followed your instructions for searing and I made that lemon, garlic cream sauce, and OMG, those scallops were sweet and tender. I was greedy, I ate all of the scallops by myself with some Brussels spouts and a baked potato. Thank you again for that amazing recipe, now all I can do is go to bed, because my belly is full and satisfied.
I'm glad I looked at this video because I am preparing scallops for dinner, and I had no clue about them needing to be dry before searing. The lemon cream sauce looks amazing. Thanks for sharing, Chef.
I just found your channel. I absolutely love your scallop recipe and your way of teaching. Your sense of humor with cooking also was a joy! Great smile and I only wish I could have tasted your scallops! Thanks for the awesome class. I love scallops and was looking for a new recipe when I came upon you!
4 minutes into your video and I gotta say...I love your presentation, instruction and genuinely lovable demeanor! Thanks for the great video! Edit: and that kitchen...oh my goodness, love it!
I ran across your channel tonight and have to say how much I enjoy your precious personality and your beautiful smile! Great recipe, too, by the way! Can't wait to try it and see more of your cooking shows!
Love the teaching you do in your videos that work for other recipes. This will be a great Valentine's dinner. Thank you. (not sure that the constant rhythmic music beat behind your voice works as well as just hearing it in the beginning; but then maybe it could stop when you start talking us through the meal in this excellent video).
I made your recipe yesterday. I rinsed my scallops in hot water with salt first, then in cold water. Before patting them dry. I thoroughly enjoyed it! My 12yr old has not developed a refined palate yet...But, she enjoyed the pasta.
#teamcalibama #lovelab LOVE the logo and graphics..but the tips and your beautiful expertise were fire!!! Honest, I could spend the whole day happily learning in your kitchen. Blessed this dish, when you sieve.. that's true love. I'd be happy with the sauce and a crusty loaf of bread. Thank you Chef Lorious.. we love you!
Hi Chef Lorious....Love your cooking and the simplicity of it. I think i can even do it.. You look like you really enjoy it. Feeling like i'm standing in your kitchen. Best wisches
Loved it! Loved everything. Your cooking, your groove, your passion, your smile, you rock! Can't wait to try this tomorrow! ❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨ Thank you for this extremely pleasant recipe session. That was fun and nice ❤️
Chef Lorious ,you have done a fantastic job and presentation of the seared scallops. Can’t wait to try them. Merry Christmas with love to you and your family. God bless, Ken
Awesome video! Your personality rocks! Would you happen to have some measurements for this recipe. I checked out your website but couldn't find the recipe. Again; great video!!
I stopped trying to make scallops at home a long time ago, because I would screw them up and they would be rubbery and chewy like jerky (yuck). But i watched your video today and tried again to make seared scallops and I did it. They were the Bomb 💣 , my lady loved them. Thank you soo much chef Lorious your the best. What's next? Lol
Hi Chef Lorious! Thank you for this video & your comments. I see simplicity & patience in your preparation of the seared scallops. Same thing with your seared steak, too. (Delicious by the way!) I will have to check for a source of the scallops because I would like to try this dish. Thanks again for another video!!
@@CalibamaCookingwithChefLorious I made scallops tonight after watching your tutorial. They were perfect! Thank you so much for all the cautions against overcooking them ❤️
Haha! I was thinking they were cooking too long! I use grapeseed or avocado oil and never go more than a minute and a half per side maybe just because my oils so much hotter not sure because yours look fantastic
I’m going to cook this up today. I’d never discard the bits. Blend the whole sauce in the VitaMix to purée. I could eat that whooooooole pan. Cheers from Canader eh!
I made it, it was delicious! I placed my scallops on a bed of steamed spinach and mushrooms. Delicious! Your video made me feel like you were in the kitchen cooking with me. Great relatable presentation.
Always afraid to leave them in too long....and end up having to 'pry' them out. So you are saying I should leave them in a bit longer......thank you. And thank you for the "we're not frying...we're searing" bit.
But, What do you make to accompany it? I’m an Irish girl who is used to cooking meat, potatoes, and two veg……so am learning to cook foreign dishes for my hunk of a husband from Africa. I so need to learn what to make him (like his mama used to cook)

Excellent video. My only critique, Background music volume could be reduced a little. It tends to wash out your instruction. My hearing is rather shot over the years.
Look good all ingredients, the only bad thing is that the Chef doesnt show well the food in the Skillet, the video is to far to view the food, no good cameraman, we need to see the cook closer😢

Olive oil has a low smoke point. Use avocado oil.

Just found your channel. Love your name. It's Glorious without the G. Beautiful name. And you are an excellent teacher. Thank you.
Dadgummit Chef Lorious! This looks delicious. Will someone please take away my phone. Now I want to be making this at 2:00am. 🤓😜
😋 mmmm delicious.
That look great. Ima try it! Would that go well as a pasta?
Chef Lorious thx!
1/16/23 ... They look so delicious. BTW / is it me or do I see ONLY ( 1 ) burner on the stove ????
You made a crème d'échalote! Is this dish you prepared an appetizer or entre?
You are patient in cooking. I am always rushing to cook the scallop s
You are just precious! My problem turning touching too much lol. Happy
I’m going to cook this up today. I’d never discard the bits. Blend the whole sauce in the VitaMix to purée. I could eat that whooooooole pan. Cheers from Canader eh!
Purée in a VitaMix sounds like a great plan!
Looks good do you think you can use lime

Any time!
You made me almost go back to the grocery store to do it like that!!! My goodness you had me at HELLO!!!🤣🤣🤣
Always afraid to leave them in too long....and end up having to 'pry' them out. So you are saying I should leave them in a bit longer......thank you. And thank you for the "we're not frying...we're searing" bit.
Made scallops in a Seafood Stew yesterday for the 7 Fish Christmas Eve Dinner we do.
Sounds delicious. I have never made a seafood stew. I’ll have to try that.
Ish 😆 love it oh qnd remember a smidgen lol
Hi thank you for this. Instead of wine would you suggest broth?
Very different flavors. Wine is rich and sharp. Broth is just…umami.
Mmmmm yummy 😋😋😋😋
Thank You
Anytime, Boo!
Delish yo!
Can scallops be broiled in the oven?
Better watch em closely they will cook quick very quick.

tried cooking scallops twice previously. kept tossing them out once cooked, because they were grainy, and biting into sand isnt fun
Excellent video. My only critique, Background music volume could be reduced a little. It tends to wash out your instruction. My hearing is rather shot over the years.
How many scallops per person?
❤️❤️
Thank you beautiful
My absolute pleasure!
You can add pasta to the sauce.
oh man you must have no problem getting a husband as you really have some good talent in the kitchen.
Hello, Did you intentionally not put the measurements you were using?
👍😎😎
Thanks so much!
Not only does your website not have the recipe, but the site is annoying with repeating popups.
Nice recipe. Background music was irritating and too much unnecessary chat.
Hold the shallots and wine
add angel hair pasta
Please eliminate the horrible background music.
Look good all ingredients, the only bad thing is that the Chef doesnt show well the food in the Skillet, the video is to far to view the food, no good cameraman, we need to see the cook closer😢
Too much gabbing .
please give me recipe
I could do without the weird music! But video is good.
A 10 minute recipe took 45 minutes to explain
Not butter..."ghee", no need for oil.!
cooked too long too hot temperature, pan smoking, sorry.
Nah buddy. They were perfect! Thx for your opinion tho.
Don’t touch it!
I’m sooooo serious! Leave it alone 👍🏽
Singing really, it’s a cooking show
I got one and it was worthless, it didn't do anything. Don't weast your money.
