Nope it's saving cricket financially Icc should find ways to make odi and test engaging And fans should stop hating on these leagues which are helping emerging cricket markets Long gone those days where cricket meant only england and australia playing each other and that's it.
The only way you have a football-like system as Matt was mentioning is if these franchise leagues are 6 or 7 months long like the football leagues. The IPL can certainly get there, but it will take some time as the talent pool in world cricket is much weaker than the talent pool in world football, and therefore the quality would've diluted significantly if you were to have a 30-team IPL even after eliminating all foreign player limits
@veergaitandra The market is going towards that. TV and streaming figures show there's interest. Cricketers aren't going to turn down Premier League level annual salaries.
The ICC needs to take control and introduce a once or twice a year IPL (International Players League). Where every team consists of 11 players from all parts of the globe. Each edition it can be hosted in a different country, so all countries benefit.
Franchise cricket brought the MLC to the USA. And all these leagues help lessen the strangle hold on playing professionally. If all that exists are national teams then thats only a handful of people who can really be professional per nation and less developed systems will fail. Sure we will see some drop off eventually as quality leagues will inevitably rise to the top and the dodgy ones will fall away but to treat franchise cricket like its harming the integrity of the sport is wacky. Pooran playing for more teams means he can showcase great cricket to more people. Limiting him with a punative restriction sure makes easier assocations for reporters but ultimately just makes it so there are fewer chances to see a masterclass like the season one MLC finals.
I think it will be fixed once talent pool of world cricket gets bigger Then it will be like football U sign with one club n play for country Also ipl will have 2 windows Summer n winter Ipl will be like premier league where all top new players will sign for Then SA20 will be like la liga BBL will be like bundesliga So yeah there will be pecking orders N that will also give us fair champions league in cricket
Motie was one of the more consistent players on the recent west indies tour . Yet he appears to have been released bt CWI to play in a T10 leagie instead ! This is why along with the sad death of west Indies cricket..
From a narrow NZ perspective, we lose a lot without being able to gain very much. The IPL creeping through March is eating away at our home season, & the likes of SA20 & ILT20 have started pillaging our own domestic T20 comp. Heck, even on the women's side, we've got the WPL moving into Jan-Feb, which rolls right onto Women's Super Smash's front lawn, which really can't afford to lose our own stars. The prospect of this season potentially being the last the likes of Amelia Kerr ever plays is a scary prospect. It's hard to like franchise cricket when you're on the rough end.
@pieratesofcarribean That requires the boards to work together. They won't - CA has always looked down at NZC, & their attitude has never changed. It would then force us to move around our entire domestic structure, men's & women's, to accommodate it. Stuff that.
Englishmen are becoming more jealous these days 😜 IPL is way ahead of everything but now BGT has gained a lot of fame and has become famous and brought more fierce rivalry compared to Ashes 😂 Yes, we can understand, but please don’t show it on the social media like this.
Franchise cricket is certainly spoiling international cricket because all players just want the money rather than fame of playing for their country these days.
@@CricketEnglandwell there is some other reason to , England is cooler place compare to subcontinent so people prefer to watch it on tv set and smartphones
Neither really. Players are able to make a lot of money, in a format that doesn’t interest me in the slightest. The game will always be played, regardless. I’d sooner watch two teams of fat, old blokes, playing on the village green, umpired by a bloke with a pint of lager in his hand than watch T20 rubbish, but we are all different. If others feel differently, that is fine.
Killing cricket. So many half baked ...gully cricket people. Soon body builders will play and it will be brute power. Bowlers will be rely on tricks not on skill
T20 will replace ODI, purely coz its money a making format for every board and less time-consuming, More nations will be willing to play T20 over ODI TEST will be limited to certain countries and India along with Australia and england will be the only one investing very heavily in this format
I was watching the show mind your language in which a Shaik joined his driver to an English class because he was Glasgow and I think Neil is from Glasgow
All of a sudden english media focusing on irrelevant things because they can never do what India is doing to Australia lol
Just because you’re country has no clue what critical analysis is doesn’t mean other countries should become robots like your media
Shut up dude why you come on English channel just to spread hate.
People like you always harm the cricket discourse
You need psychological help
What exactly are the Aussies doing to India😂😂😂
Where is hundred logo is that t20 cricket or just because that is a English league😂
hypocrisy of english media😂
They say they started hundred to introduce new fans

I don't want that tbh, 3 months of any league should be maximum time T20 leagues can be played

Highly agreed
people outside india wont support a franchise system, no one outside india cares or follows an indian franchise team

Who let this man cook 😢. Worst idea ever
Leagues are organised by cricket boards to generate money for themselves

Franchise cricket dilutes international cricket for the smaller teams.
I think it will be fixed once talent pool of world cricket gets bigger
Then it will be like football
U sign with one club n play for country
Also ipl will have 2 windows
Summer n winter
Ipl will be like premier league where all top new players will sign for

BBL will be like bundesliga
So yeah there will be pecking orders
N that will also give us fair champions league in cricket
IPL being 2 windows will never happen because every country but England play at the same time
Yes, stop that shitty Hundred and other cheap useless leaguea without a shred of money or quality.

Football also has so much leagues so
Who cares India and Australia are playing the biggest test series and you lot are talking about this 😂😂😂

IPL will become bigger as time passes and so does the money that it provides to the players
Australia and NZ should combine their T20 leagues and start paying salaries competitive with IPL to its players which they will never pay.

@ yes England always seems to get full houses at test level, which some countries can’t even do for International white ball cricket.

whole problem is IPL is not a English premier league 😂😂😂😂😂
