    I had flight attendant version 1 pn my enduro. It is by far the est tech ive had on a bike. Explaining it makes it sound simplistic. You just have to ride it to feel how good it is.
    I don't think you can buy it after market yet but would definitely put it on my xc bike if i could.

    I actually like seeing the flight attendant tech, coupled with the latest transmission and AXS wireless from SRAM - though it does likely mean more service intervals in some cases.
    I don't see how its revolutionary geometry however. It seems like its now the same geo can be applied across the board from XC to Enduro with only the suspension travel and tune being the differentiator.
    IMO the Stumpy 2020 carbon bike with the flex stays was revolutionary for a trail bike, and I can't see the place for the 'new' Epic EVO, if Spec'd with the same parts as an equivalent stumpjumper.
    I actually think the flight attendant applicability is probably best at this stage for XC/Trail, I am excited to see what a few gens of evolution of the motion sensors, accelerometers, next gen kinematic, dampeners and the speed of processing can do for an Enduro/DH application.

    If anything you would think they would be working "AI" into the drivetrain, so it's doing the shifting for you in critical times, which makes more sense. I like they are pushing boundaries and what not, but it's also taking the mountain out of mountain biking with too much electronics.

    • @TomMarvin1
      @TomMarvin1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      SRAM's Powertrain ebike system does the shifting for you, though it's yet to be integrated into non assisted bikes. I've not ridden it yet and have heard slightly mixed views, but I'd love to try it on a mountain bike

    I think it will almost inevitably trickle down. With AXS Transmission, it started at the very top end and eventually trickled down to GX AXS which is affordable and good. This Flight Attendant will never make it to the entry level bikes but I imagine in 1-3 years we will see options at the mid tier price point and above.

    If it is using algorithms, it isn't in any way AI, that is machine learning. And if it is using AI, well, unless that tiny little box is the cupboard from Alice in Wonderland, it isn't big enough to contain the computing power required to run AI models.
    If we're talking about XC racing, nothing will beat a 9kg hardtail with a normal fork without any lockout features. Less hassle, less to worry about, more speed.

    I think Flight Attendant is a fantastic innovation.As a mechanical engineer along with an avid F1 and Moto GP fan,the next iteration of Flight Attendant should include GPS location tracking.As it currently stands the system is reactive and thus a step behind,the next logical step is to be proactive or active similar to active suspension systems in F1 cars in the early 1990's.With the GPS location tracking the system would require one lap to map the terrain of the trail or the race course,and therefore be proactive for each feature along the trail or race course.

    Interesting how they came out with this considering their original flight attendant isn’t on anybody’s bikes anywhere. Now stick to drivetrain wireless especially because that’s what you do best. Stop making crappy breaks. Stop making stupid things for suspension that cannot change your suspension and predict what’s coming on the trail it only changes it as you pull over something which does nothing because you barely roll over anything for any amount of time at all cause you’re flying down the trail.exactly why live liar from Shimano has never caught on either. They both aren’t solving any issues at all.
