Even after succumbing to both internal and external pressure to usher in multi-party politics, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi still remained in power for another two terms. Divisions in the then opposition seemed to work in his favour as he was declared winner of the subsequent two general elections in the multi-party era before passing the baton to the then budding politician Uhuru Kenyatta.

The biggest political blunder Raila made that has denied him the presidency to date was supporting Kibaki in 2002.If LDP that left KANU supported Nyachae through making a coalition with Kalonzo as the running mate they could have triumphed both Uhuru and Kibaki infact Kibaki would have come third in the elections.That could have changed the history of kenya because LDP had the momentum going into that election.
