Nice job getting early access for this! You are one of the few total war creators who I was really keen to see play Pharaoh. Have to admit I mostly like what I saw. Slower battles gets a big thumbs up from me. I'm really curious to see if they end up expanding the playable map area with future DLC and whatnot so we have Greece and Mesopotamia in the mix too.
Fr. The first 20 min of this video has been the best content I’ve seen yet. I’m looking forward to getting lots of gudeas knowledge as he’s playing. Idk after playing video games for like 25 years, I need the historical info, the role play etc, to stay interested. Painting the map with no context is boring
Excited to see one of my favorite historical eras represented in Total War! I'll have a lot of new content about Total War Pharaoh coming up in the next few weeks.
Hey Gudea, I hope this isn't appropriate to mention in the TH-cam comments. But with everything that's happening in Armenia at the moment, I hope you're doing well. I hope you know that many people across the world care deeply about Armenians and are extremely emotionally invested in the safety of everyone involved. And thank you for continuing to upload some great content. I have plenty of reservations about Pharaoh but at least I know I can count on you uploading some quality content from it.
Thanks for the look into this game. I can't say I'm completely happy with where modern Total War is mechanically, but the setting is interested and I'll probably buy it. I haven't watched a lot of videos on this so I don't know what other people are doing, but are you able to show the campaign mechanics currently? Wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

@@MedjayofFaiyum I hope viewers know that I will be analyzing the game for its own merits - I have not played the warhammer games, and 3K and Troy didn't hit the spot for me, so this is the first non-remake Total War I am really delving into since Attila.
Question for the video creator or anyone else who has more experience with this game than I, how the heck do you manage resources? I’m having to spend time bartering every single turn to keep my food and bronze supplies In check even though all my cities are geared towards food buildings. I sort of get the bronze scarcity but I have one city dedicated to producing it, yet it’s always in the red. Meanwhile I have literally thousands of units of stone and wood. What gives?
I had heard something different about the end of the Hittite Empire in an old documentary, to the effect that after a lot of upheaval and the loss of their imperial conquests, the people basically left Hattusa, though it still stood. I'm inclined to believe you know what you're talking about, given your background, and perhaps those conclusions were based on less evidence than what is now available, so would you care to say more on the subject?
There is veeery little evidence about the early Old Kingdom, very little about the Middle Kingdom in general, and very little about the post-Tudhaliya IV end period.
Broken Saga Troy Rip-off? lmaoo The game's pretty polished so far, even for an early access. Not saying it's 100% perfect but neither was every other TW ever. Also, 'it's a troy reskin' makes no sense. Come up with something new.
It’s not really a “full fledged” historical game, it’s a saga game. Also not only is the Bronze Age one of the worst and most boring eras they could’ve set a game, but they didn’t even do it properly with all the cultures they should have included.
As an ancient near east guy, love the setting. Should have been set prior to the collapse though, and with a broader geographic range in my opinion (ahhiyawa/myceneans, Minoans, kassites, assyria, mitanni, etc
This time period is exciting for me, though again I wish they would have chosen the height of the Bronze Age empires (including Mitanni, Mycenae, Arzawa, Kassites, Elam, Assyria, Hayasa, etc) rather than making the collapse the main campaign. I think that would have made the campaign portion a bit better. I want to see other eras as well (Rise of Sargon, Hammurabi, Neo-Assyria, Rise of Persia)

I appreciate a lot of the adjustments made here. I really want to see map expansion in the future for sure, that's my number one request.

Agreed 100%, need the historical context to be invested.

@@Mr_D_The_1st He is indeed
Thank you for the support. I talk about those issues here: th-cam.com/video/OEhPWidJwzs/w-d-xo.html
I will make a full review of Pharaoh of course.
Just want to say you are one of my favorite Total War content creators and I always learn something from your videos.
Thank you :)

whoops
Ancient near east
Oh boy, here we go. Good to see you back Gudea!
Good to be back!
Kinda cool how the banners get more tattered as the losses mount.
Good point!
Finally Gudea has arrived into this game! 😅
Haha yup it's about time...
@@GudeaTWat least now we will get more positivity than the usual nonsense that is surrounding this game.

Bruh that funny. You’re king is a psycho fighting amongst the enemy formation lol
xD
chariots being able to ride through such rpugh terrain even modern cars could not pass
Hittite technology
Do Hittites have unkillable catapults in this game?
(age of empires 1 joke).
Lol actually I never really played aoe.. mostly civ back in the day

I dig civ too.
Love you Gudea, you are a strong person ❤
Hittites look rly good imho 😅

Thank you!
The whole "you play as a leader and not the Kingdom" thing is a carry over from Warhammer, I'm pretty sure every game since Warhammer has had that

Will try!

What is the game's treatment of Israel and the Canaan region?
I haven't taken a look at that yet
How did you get access to this😭

whats your pc specs?

you mean fully fledged broken Saga troy rip off?
I will give this game a full honest chance, since this is (at least very close to) my favorite historical period.
