He has recently been taking from Theo by creating non sequiturs when describing things (minus the wit though). He takes the annoying Joe Rogan thing of yelling punchlines because it's supposedly funnier. Compare that to someone like Andrew. I would say from an outside view he is primarily inspired by Burr. His bit about not needing to climb because we figured out how to do it already is classic Burr (check out his delivery at 1:33:50 - 1:34:13) . His bit about not needing to watch the rock climbing movie because he guesses that the guy already got to the top is very much a Jo Koy way of thinking. That joke he made about Brendan shooting up a theatre from CTE is classic Louis C.K. He has understood that you don't take from your heroes. That's lazy. You learn to think in a similar way to your heroes. I think that it is a real display of why Andrew is starting to rocket up while Brendan has been getting all this hate. Not that Brendan would know though because he doesn't read the comments and thus doesn't learn how to improve his act.

Barking Shark it’s a running joke to spell Brendan’s name incorrectly. Have a look on TFATK subreddit. Every post has his name spelled differently. It started with an AMA that Bryan and Brendan did 3 years ago. When people were trolling Brendan and misspelling his name, then Brendan started to get mad, not knowing they were doing it on purpose, and would start a lot of his replies to questions with “well...my name is Brendan.”

It is very strange. Get into conversations about specials and ideas for future specials, specials you’ve done in the past, etc. and yet not one single time in all these episodes does the showtime special EVER get mentioned.
