Fantastic vid. This has always been a major ADU question and it's great to see an actual service trench in action. Assuming the plumbing one is in the same trench?
Thanks! Different trench for water and drains. Every site will be different in terms of trenches that can be shared or not. Depends on existing location of meters, stacks etc.
If a person wanted to be the general contractor for a simple 800sq.ft garden suite in London Ontario area what would you expect the total cost to be just to put up the foundation with the services ready to go? It would be slab on grade with proper footings like your other video. Thanks!
Great to see hands on video on how the various stages come together....
Great video. Super informative. Good luck with your build.
Thank you for the kind words!
I bet money that whoever owns my house after me will get busy and convert the garage into a Garden Suite. For sure!

My guess is in the neighbourhood of $40 to 80k
Excellent video but you didn't show for the water and sewer how deep you dig?
For the garden suite in the video, can you confirm the municipality that had jurisdiction of this build?
When the water meter is in the ADU, how do you read the usage for calculating the usage percentage without entering the rented unit?
Is the water supply connected to the water supply in the main house? If so I assume it goes through the foundation.
Yes that would be correct
How deep do you have to put the supply line in the ground
How does plumbing and drain work if a basement is under the garden suit with an 8-9 ft ceiling?
In that case you might need a sewage ejector pump
