- Join Takuma as we count down some of the most of the coolest and most unique Rahi of the BIONICLE animal kingdom.
As with all Top 10 lists, this is very subjective and should not be considered absolute by any means. However, we at TTV all agree that the list is fairly strong.
But that's our thoughts, do you have a different list in mind? Post your top 10 sets list in the comments below! And feel free to give us any suggestions for more top 10 lists in the future.

As a kid, I always wanted that Kanohi dragon. I wanted to know how to build it and how to get the pieces, but never got either of them.
The Tahtorak was always my favorite Rahi, mainly because I loved the Toa Mata Lewa so much back when I was young. I wish there was a life-sized version of this guy for me to ride. :D

i remember i elementary school there was a bionicle rahi book. man i would ALWAYS borrow it from the school library. i remember the actual bionicle books were there too. i only read the first book before i graduated from grade 6
I actually still have my Rahi book I got from a Scholastic book fair. It's a bit tattered on the cover, but the contents are still in perfect condition just about. My favorites were the Proto Drake, Metru Mantis, and the Artakha Bull, but I can't think of one I particularly hated, or disliked. They were all either cute, cool, or weird in a nifty way.

Shoot, Tarakava wasn't on the list. That Rahi barely looked like a lizard let alone resembling a skinny eel-like dinosaur with the powers of Mike Tyson.

I'm not sure if it counts as a Rahi, but my favourite is the Spikit, just because it eats anything when it's hungry, including the agori riding it or the vehicle it pulled.

+grapezzzz19 Well, it was first mentioned in one of the Bionicle comics from 2005, when Roodaka tells her Visorak minions about the trials she had to go through to reach her position of power. So, I would consider that canon.

Canon rahi, only sum were official sets and combos
Keetongu was the only legitimate set. Krahka, Mana-Ko, Kahgarak, Niazesk were all combiner sets. The Rahi Nui could technically be a combiner you could make out of the other rahi though. Tahtorak and Kanohi Dragon were canonized fan-made models. The Mountain and Crystal Serpents aren't.

+electrocat1 All of the Rahi in the Matoran Universe are made from Protodermis. Every single one is artificial in some way. The only truly organic creatures in the Solis Magna System are the ones on Bota and Aqua Magna.
I know. I meant energized protodermis then, I don't know. The same thing that happened to Makuta and Takanuva.

But I will agree with you when you say that Energised Protodermis is confusing. It apparently alters one depending on their destiny. So... the destinies of the individual Rahi was to combine into a singular, devastative Rahi? Looking at you, Gold Skinned Being.

tahtorak was made by someone who won a lego contest btw.
The Kanohi Dragon was also fan-made. Source: I have the book showing off many of the fan submissions from the 2003 Rahi fan contest along with models LEGO designed; with the fan models denoted by the fan(s) who created them.
I was going to enter with something I made from Gahlok, but some of the pieces broke because I tossed it in the gutter, so long story short, it never made it. I might submit a MOC sometime if I ever get another Gahlok and manage to recreate it. The best I can remember is that it resembled the Dermis Turtle in some capacity, and that the fin hands were on the arm/leg pieces. It's worth a shot.

Weren't the Barraki technically Rahi? They were a squid, eel, shark, shrimp, crab, and manta ray transformed by the Kanohi Ignika...
+Combustiblemonguy Not in the slightest. In fact, only Ehlek was a water-dwelling being originally. They were warlords before they got thrown in the pit and were mutated by pit mutagen. The Ignika had nothing to do with it.

They could have ruled Mahri Nui or some other underwater Nui. And a Bionicle expert told me that yes they were mutated by the pit AND the Ignika.
They were 6 dudes of different species mutated by the Pit Mutagen and turned into things.
They then were transformed back into their original forms and given the ability to be amphibious by Mata Nui and the Ignika during the reformation of Spherus Magna.
