- Billie Eilish speaks out after being asked about her sexuality on a red carpet. The singer was honored at this year's 'Variety' Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles on Saturday. On Instagram, Billie thanked 'Variety' for the honor presented, but called them out for 'outing' her before the event during their interview. The GRAMMY winner writes, 'Thanks Variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 a.m. instead of talking about anything else that matters.'

I thought Billie was into men and women for the longest. Wasn’t it obvious like she said? Is this really news?
I honestly thought she might be gay.
If she thought is was obvious, then how was she outted?
Her point is, why was it a big deal? Just because she confirmed she's gay, media make a huge deal of it like it's a ribbon cutting ceremony.
She makes post on social media alluding to her being attracted to women and then says it publicly that she’s attracted to them and assumed everyone knew which means she wanted them to know and then says she was outted?
It's so sad how many followers she lost for that. The world has come so far, but not far enough for everyone to just except eachother. Also you don't need to get into her personal life! She just wants people to enjoy the wonderful music she makes but i am very proud of her ❤

@@POETA.DGUILHER and the majority of homeless kids are LGBTQ youth kicked out by their families which perfectly ties into what the original comment is talking about, but of courrssee you'd rather ignore that part.
The obvious question would be "why are you bringing that up? What does that have to do with what the first comment says?" But we all know the only reason you're bringing it up is for a cheap attempt at a "whataboutism", and you don't actually care about things like homelessness at all. Shameful.

I am bothered by the phrase 'come out' in the sense of confession, like 'she admitted that she is' and then labeling. She hasn't committed a crime to confess to. I think what she has done is valuable and I'm glad because something as natural as sexual identity, which, if not heterosexual, is still considered a 'minority dictatorship' and similar nonsense, will eventually be accepted as a natural state of being *obviously, it still isn't fully accepted.
And since she has influence, she can raise awareness among the ignorant masses and give a sense of self-acceptance, for example, to a girl who admires and respects her, to accept herself as well. That's the whole point - she is a public figure and it's great that she has done something for herself and for others who are 'different.'
Because it will also make her own life easier, and let's not lie, there are so many people who are not heterosexual but hide it precisely because of the narrow-minded majority who suspiciously claim to be 'hetero' - if they are truly at peace with themselves, why does someone else's sexuality bother them? She is a pretty, charming girl, and I'm happy for her. She is a sweet, cute girl, sings very well, and has interesting music videos, just quirky, which I personally like.

Same girl same, got married at 18 and I’ve only had relationships with other guys and only realized I was bi and accepted myself as bi when I was like 22 or 23. Honestly I’m not anticipating getting divorced or anything but I don’t think I’d date girls. They’re so intimidating and I’m just scared of them. I don’t think I would.
That's how it is it is intimidating and scary the first time or two for every guy ever maybe if you actually had sex with a girl you would have found out you weren't gay instead of getting married at 18 which is already ridiculous enough let alone to a guy I don't even believe you you're telling me you could pay for a wedding at 18 no it would have been your parents and any sane parents would not pay for their 18-year-old son's gay wedding who has never even tried being with a girl

When I first heard this girl’s songs years ago, I thought she was sour and moody and intentionally against the world. I later watched something that changed my mind as she matured through the years and I could see her in a different light, as a young girl just learning and growing and gaining experience. It seemed she had found some understanding and happiness and I had hopes for her sane adulthood. Just when I thought she was going to make it unscathed, she jumps right in to the immaturity of sexual ambiguity and what seems like pandering to a crowd. Sad. She’s still young. And still has much to learn. So she may well find her way to that sanity, but it’s too bad she’s still stumbling.
