I'll be putting several of these techniques to the test during this off season. I love that winter allows us to focus on the short game. Thanks Sophie!
That's the best putting video I've seen so far, and I've watched loads , simple but really informative and a very easy to listen to instructor. Well done that lady.
Been changing my putting a lot of late especially with such bad weather. Sophie is bang on with feeling the arms locked in. Gonna try more with the other tips
Having been afflicted with a horrible attack of the yips, the one tip that has solved it for me is the tee in the end of the grip staying upright. Thanks Sophie!!
If you’re right eye dominant. Left hand low may make it harder for you to see correct line. I was left hand low for years. I went back to right hand low. My PPR went from 2.1 to 1.9 instantly. I tested both ways with laser. I aim better right hand low. It’s not a big difference but my lipouts are dropping now.
That was a very good explanation on putting, I will put your explanations into practice and let you know how I go. Thank you from Tim Melbourne Australia.
But if you watch really good consistent ( and that’s the acid test ) consistency- the follow through is absolutely minimal! It’s never long - Striking the ball from the centre of the clubface is number one priority and most amateur golfers are not good with that concept- Ever seen TW practice with his right hand only from 3 feet - - Good video
What you present are your opinions. Some people do not agree with them. As far as the mental part you are correct. But putting is VERY HARD and to do it correctly takes a lot of work and dedication. It also takes knowledge of what a REQUIRED tilted plane stroke is. That would be an arc. And mostly all good putters RELEASE the putter today which is NOT what you are trying to tell people. There is a reason for that ever since Ben Crenshaw opened up about it. A very light grip is thus important. When you release the putter you take yourself out of the putt. All good putters today know that you have to give up control of the putter in order to get control of the putter. And you have to understand that there is a difference between the putter blade being square to the target and PERPENDICULAR to the tilted plane it is travelling on. That is why the blade is opening and closing to one and not the other. Very, very deceiving. THIS IS FAR FROM AN ONLY LESSON.
@@Ottoschmitz-hi Good putters are made not born. You go out and spend about 4000 hours under a string like I did and then shoot off your mouth about what is fact and what is opinion. Until then you might be better of keeping your opinions to yourself. Tour players today are routinely making about 44 of 45 putts a week under 10 feet. There are established facts. Be stupid like in your statement above if you want to remain a putting shlump.
Sorry luv, but all great putters, including Nicklaus, Crenshaw, Faxon, Woods, McCarthy, et al, release the putter head through impact, meaning the tee does NOT remain vertical. Keeping the tee vertical only promotes pushes and/or offline hits.
I love your approach to teaching. Great to see you back.
Thanks Denise! Great to have you on board and part of the HowDidiDo Academy community!

Left hand low makes a lot of sense. I hit about 20 putts on the carpet that way and it does feel quite natural. Thank you for the tips.
Lots of info presented in a rather brilliant way

I needed to be reminded of these putting fundamentals - thanks.

Love to hear things like this... That these videos are genuinely helping amateur golfers! Keep up the great work.
Can't wait to try this . Thankyou
I took in so much great info about the basics in very little time.
Definitely trying this!
Thanks Jerry - let us know how you get on!
This is the best putting video I've seen. Perfectly paced and very informative. Thank you!
Great tips. I've never put as many in as I did after watching this
I like the tee on top of grip idea - a great visual
Thanks for the feedback! Subscribe for new weekly videos every Thursday at 4PM
I've become truly terrible at putting. Definitely trying this!
It's the hardest part of the game for most of us so don't beat yourself up!
Great job and simple to understand!
Sophie I have a question as you maintain the v working as one I notice in follow through right underarm separates from chest in post hit
Well done. You have style. Jim
Always good instructions
Excellent video! Never thought of the grip like that!! Thank you!

Let's me try this, thanks Sophie
Lots of excellent snippets… Thank you!.
Yay it helped me SO MUCH
Tried it today and loved the result.
Good lesson, Thank-you
Super content! My only suggestion is, get rid of the distracting background music.
Thanks for the feedback - we'll definitely take it onboard to improve the videos in the future!
Such a good video

When I setup left hand low my shoulders are aiming right of the hole 😞😞
Why was there a tee in front of the ball Sophie?
Where has she been ? On the tour ?
👏👏👍💪💯
Interesting. Suggested a reverse grip yet not using herself.😊
I tried it today and did work😀

Everything you said as fact is an opinion

She's not saying keep it upright, it needs to be in line with the rest of the lever (arms)
A surgeon does not use his shoulders. You only need to move the putter head a few inches. You do not need your shoulders to do that.
Yes, you absolutely do. Surgeons / golfers are doing completely different things. What an idiotic comment
I assume that you are on the PGA tour ?
