So I just fought Anubis in an Expert mode playthough, can I just say how well designed his boss fight is? His pattern is pretty predictable, cycling through only four attacks, but there's one move that stand out to me; the cane throw. In a game where projectiles are almost entirely your only method of attack, naturally something that can reflect projectiles would be game breaking, and in Anubis' case, it is. Terraria bosses would usually just boil down to, "Aim at the boss, shoot at it until it dies, and dodge projectiles. Anubis is the exception. He actually forces you to not just go full Rambo mode because if you do, your own projectiles will insta kill you. Sure, most games also force you to think strategically, but in the roster of Terraria's Boss fights, genius boss design.
