People want to live in denial, and this show usually promotes the lets not speak on the race topic narrative. This is why I thought Amanda Seals was good for the show. She doesn't bite her tongue and speaks her mind. One reason they didn't want Tamar. She was too opinionated and BLK for them. The fact is, people don't want to believe there is a difference between being BLK and being Bi-racial and want to lump everyone in to one group that is minority. Not being unkind but honest, a lot of Loni’s comedy stems from her insecurities. She’s broken in a lot of ways and when she sees certain women that have certain things that she doesn’t that reflect in her areas of brokenness, her way of lifting herself up is to belittle something about that person.

Brandy theus couldn’t agree more. I stopped watching as regularly as I used to, because she is extremely big headed now a days. I personally love listening to what Jeannie and Adrienne have to say, and she non-stop cuts them off and throws digs at them. I think Loni tried to make a joke, it fell flat, everyone checked her, and rather than just admit her joke went awry, her pride kept her in a stubborn mindset where she tried to build layers onto it to justify it and she just dug herself into a hole.......which was easy to come out of, but again, her pride prevented it from happening.

Not being unkind but honest, a lot of Loni’s comedy stems from her insecurities. She’s broken in a lot of ways and when she sees certain women that have certain things that she doesn’t that reflect in her areas of brokenness, her way of lifting herself up is to belittle something about that person.

Yea her opinions are never nuanced. As a Black woman who struggled to find love herself, you would think Loni would appreciate someone going the extra mile to help other women find love. Instead she just says “that’s some white people sh*t” basically. That kind of thinking is partially why so many Black women are single because we are taught to limit ourselves. Shan is very talented and educated. Her certifications, titles, and overall passion prove that. To address Loni she is part white on her moms side. Her mom is Dominican and Irish. Her dad is Guyanese with Indian roots. So she's mostly black but it was still uncalled for Loni to be so rude and harsh with the delivery of her joke and dismissing Shan's methods of helping her clients. Then saying she need to check Jeannie like wtf are you doing? Props to you Jeannie for standing up for Shan. Her book The Game of Desire is out now! Go cop yours.
Angel Manneh I am not even being funny but how did you get mostly black?????? Her dad is Indian (being dark Indian doesn’t make you black) and her mom is bi racial. Her Dominican side just makes her 1/3 African, so how is it mostly????? This woman is biracial and there is nothing wrong with that. I am not understanding why are you forcing someone in a “black” box in order to validate what doesn’t need validation.
@@kckrox6911 I'm not forcing Shan in any box. From my understanding Guyana is in the Caribbean. B/c her mom is part Dominican I'm assuming Afro Latina. To me that's mostly black. Didn't say fully black. I stated she was part Irish cause of her maternal grandfather and her dads Indian heritage would make her part Asian. So she is multiracial which was just broken down. So I stand by what I said. We can agree to disagree.

Honestly Jeannie needs her own show. She was making a valid, mature response but the panel just acted quite childish, with Loni being defensive and shrill in her 'jokes', and with A and Tam doing their usual staying on the fence. Respect to Jeannie for being true to herself and standing her ground since season 1.
Shan Boodram's race should have never been apart of this conversation the conversation is about her work and should have stayed as such. Also, I didn't know who Shan Boodram was until this, but I did recently watch her 2nd response to the comment and it just shows how ignorant Loni Love was without trying to further her understanding of what Shan Boodram actually did.
