    Great review, loved the talking over other shots that you were showing of the “alpicool”, Great music it worked well with the video, really enjoyed the ending of you showing yourself plus the app and showing us that interface. Great unboxing video! It’s only going to get better from here!

    Nice review, Art! If I ever get to build a workshop in my garage this would be perfect for it.

    Hi, you kind of skipped over the hysteresis settings. People complain that it goes too far above their set point before it turns the compressor on so the temp varies too much for their liking. That's what that setting is for. How many degrees will it let the temp change before it starts the compressor to cool things back down.
    Anyway, I was pleased to see the setting for it in there. Thanks for the review! :)

      Hey thanks for the info. Wasn't quite sure what that meant "hysteresis". Nice to know that feature is there. Thanks for checking out the video.

    Appreciate the ending of your video where you showed the app to control from my phone. I have the “new” display and could not set the freezer temp directly on the machine.

      I love the app it’s a game changer. Okay forget that it’s there sometimes though and end up manually adjusting it. Glad you found the video helpful

      I have the same problem with the new display.I use the bluetooth and it seems o work fine.Problem i have is there seems to be like a bubbling noise sounding like it coming from the compressor.

    I was hoping you were going to explain all the app settings at the end! Unfortunately I can't find instructions anywhere. What is the Hysteresis for? What are the various TC settings for left & right boxes? Grateful for any help 🤓

      Hi MoakesArt, I rarely use the app it is not of much use to me and I use it as an office fridge. Best of luck to you.

      Yes I have same question. I have a newer model LGT50, has that new compressor and from what I’ve seen, the hysteresis is some sort of shut off feature once reaching a certain temperature. I found it turns on/off too much (basically it warms up quickly after it cycles off) but it doesn’t seem like this would work for my purpose. Alas, insulation will be the solution like buying a cover for it or taking the time to make one out of reflectix.

    Fun fact: Alpicool "makes" this same exact fridge for Smittybilt. It has the same features, but is black instead of gray, and says "Smittybilt" on it. Also, it's 800 dollars, a significant upcharge for a name.

      Oh wow, yeah I think I have seen several almost identical off brands that have the same body and interface. That stinks that they are charging so much for it though. I guess it pays to do your due diligence when researching these coolers. Thanks for checking out the review!

    I have the newer T50 and it comes with a different LED display.Also doesnt come with Alpicool logo.Sent the company a message and they told me the newer models come Logo free.I find that strange.

    • @AdventuringArthur
      @AdventuringArthur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I am seeing that kind of behavior lots with these Chinese companies. That doesn't surprise me. Hopefully the new LED display is better than the current one. I like the current one. Would be nice to turn it off at night when sleeping in a tent.

    Was wondering being you said the lid is hollow, is there possibly a hole on there somewhere or maybe you can drill a small one to where you can spray some of that expandable foam inside of it to give it better insulation?

    • @AdventuringArthur
      @AdventuringArthur  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly but I wouldn't want to void my warranty to find out. If I take it camping that sounds like a good idea though as the lid does feel hollow, what I am not sure is how many dividers are in the hollow areas.

    Hey Adventuring Art great review of the product. Any updates on the Heat Loss through the Top Lid of the cooler? Any idea of what insulation can be used to help create a better Seal?
    I have found it does not seal properly, between the Lid and cooler opening there is lots of water collecting (Sweating between the body and where the lid meet just outside of the original seals water is collecting)

    • @AdventuringArthur
      @AdventuringArthur  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there Meta Capture, I open and shut my cooler several times a day so perhaps in all that opening and shutting moisture does not have time to collect. it is a bugger to close and open though you really got a give it a good punch to close it and pull up with 2 hands to get it open. If yours opens up easily, that could be the reason why. Otherwise the only moisture I have seen is when I leave like a towel on top of the unit it will be humid underneath the towel a few hours later. Hope that helps. I don't insulate it with anything as my office stays between 60 - 85 degrees F.

    Hi ART, thanks for the review! I just got my T50 and I wonder as to how "safw" is it to leave it working overnight on my SUV regular 95Amp battery. I wonder if it won;t drain my battery too fast causing dmaage to it, or to my ability to ignite the day after. I know it has a battery protection mode, I wonder if you tried it out and know for how long it can sustain operationg on the car's battery. Thanks
    Robi

    • @AdventuringArthur
      @AdventuringArthur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robi. Thanks for checking out the video. I know the T50 has a setting where you can specify to have it power down once the volts in your battery hit a low # to prevent it from dying. Now a car battery is alot smaller capacity wise vs what I use a 700Watt power station. That not really lasts me through the night when I use it in the middle of a Texas summer.

    Thanks Art for the video review. I just got the rebadged version with the wheels from Costco and am using it to replace an old Coleman cooler. So far I like it--the cooling is superior to the peltier cooling of the Coleman. By the way, I cannot for the life of me figure out which app to use and how to actually pair. I've tried all the apps available in the Google Play store but haven't had any luck. I search and nothing shows up in any of the apps. What am I doing wrong?

    • @AdventuringArthur
      @AdventuringArthur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My app on the Google Play store is called "Alpicool". It was pretty easy to find for me. You might want to try that app if it's just rebadged and the same cooler.

    • @EdwardMoyNY
      @EdwardMoyNY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdventuringArthur thanks for the suggestion but I just learned that the issue is not with the app but with the firmware on the rebadge... Bluetooth has been removed. Normally, AP shows up as an option in the "hidden" setup menu but on mine, AP doesn't.

    Good day. My screen is no longer working on the T50. It flashes once and then goes blank. So nothing to kick start the compressor. I tried using the app but it will not pair. Any idea from anyone? Thanks
