To answer your query - The salesperson is responsible to generate revenues by pitching the products to consumers and making a sale.
The intensity and traveling depend upon the industry. Eg: In the FMCG industry, sales roles involve traveling as the salespeople need to ensure that the products are available with retailers and wholesalers.
