A line doesn't necessarily have to be straight. A curve is also a line.
Also, a diagonal line is still a straight line.

I have this horrible feeling that we're all going to come to despise the fact that he disabled the warning about units still having actions
LOL I thought exactly the same. Might actually be the only reason to continue watching the series, because his plays definitely won't be... ;) (this 30 mins hurt so bad)
My thoughts immediately. I mean, think how many times in Slay the Spire he'd have gotten that warning. Yet, WITH it, he may have just dismissed it off hand which would have been even worse...

How does the artillery that was explained 5 seconds ago work? Hmm it's showing lines of where it can shoot as well.. hmm.. I can't seem to grasp this complex machine.
Only thing bother me was when he kept thinking he could attack diagonally despite having seen the attack ranges of his units
What I don’t understand is how hard to realize it attacks just like a Rook in chess. Only in straight Horizontal/Vertical lines, at least 2 spaces away
Dan had just as much trouble with the artillery, I don't understand how
I won't say it was Cuphead tutorial video levels of bad, but NL will deserve all the flak he will get for this. Could NL just not see the orange cross due to some color blindness he was either hiding for years or just not aware of? Are we having a Winston moment?
NL overthinking turns and not seeing cardinal attacks on the artillery...

Artillery shoots in straight lines and can't shoot adjacent tiles.
I have no clue why that was so difficult to understand.
UNITS CAN'T ATTACK DIAGONALLY!!!!!! Thats why you failed understanding your artillery.
Also your tank acts like the tower in chess. So use its Range instead of putting it in the middle!!
And with your "I have to get enemies to fall into water" you're just making it harder for yourself. It's a nice bonus if it's possible but don't limit yourself to that so much!!!
My dude's 200 IQ makes it actually harder for him to comprehend simple vidjeo game systems and strategies. NL is just on a whole nuda lebel.

Its actually incredible how NL is incapable of realizing the basic mechanics of the game, despite the game telling him EXACTLY how everything works. Just...wow...

He made only like two mistakes
He only made 2 mistakes if you ignore it taking him 20 minutes to understand how firing on the artillery worked despite the vibrant orange squares coloring where they could hit.
DPowered Smith it's also his job and his been doing it for years, if he needs to slow down his commentary which so far has just been explaining his thought process then he should do that so he can actually learn how to play the game.
Its an illness we call youtuber blindness. For some reason lets players become more stupid when recording.
NL is going to create a terror from the deep scenario with all the enemies he is disposing of in the water.
Gotta love how long it took him to figure out the artillery line of fire, the FTL days are BACK and I couldn't be more excited! Let's go!

I have a lot of trouble believing he was actually any good, and that's coming from a chess team nerd as well.
He displays none of the skills a chess player would need to succeed, especially foresight and creativity.

Nice seeing you here. I've probably been following NL before I even started narrating, lol. I've also been playing this game though it frustrates me greatly.

I survived the misplays in Slay the Spire, but I don't know if I can handle this.
I don't know how far your backlog is but in-case you missed it, the orange tiles tell you where you can attack, you failed to notice that when using your arty mech in the tutorial.
Also, you can hold ALT to see the order of how the enemy turn will play out, environments such as fire, always go first, and NPC's like a train, go last.

Oh good, 20 seconds into the freaking tutorial and NL is overthinking basic things and refusing to look at the screen to see the massive highlights that tell you exactly where you can move and attack while wondering how to tell where you can move and attack. This is gonna be a great series

it's not like it's hard to be more like this game than XCOM. the only thing the two have in common is being sci-fi tactics games.
It reminded me both, also reminds civilization game series where you also use units to move them on any tile and make them attack something
