The way you explain and pace these topics is top tier. I wonder if its only you who runs 1st class maths or if there are others? You have helped me beyond relief for my further maths understanding so thanks!
thank you so much for these videos, i am in year 10 and have been struggling with further maths all year, but this is really helping a lot and nice to understand :)
It is the midpoint between 23 and -1, which is 11 and not 12. When you find the midpoint you add the numbers then divide by 2. 23 + (-1) = 22 22/2 = 11 You are probably thinking there is a difference of 24 between them (which is true) and then halving this to get 12. This doesn't mean the midpoint is 12, it means that the midpoint is 12 above -1 (which is 11) and 12 below 23 (also 11) i.e. 23 - 12 = 11 (-1) + 12 = 11 Hope this helps.

thank you so much for the video-is there any chance you could do a predicted paper for L2 furthermaths paper 2??
I will try!
for question 7 - why is the midpoint ,c, not the middle number between 23 and -1 which i thought would be 12 not 11
It is the midpoint between 23 and -1, which is 11 and not 12.
When you find the midpoint you add the numbers then divide by 2.
23 + (-1) = 22
22/2 = 11
You are probably thinking there is a difference of 24 between them (which is true) and then halving this to get 12. This doesn't mean the midpoint is 12, it means that the midpoint is 12 above -1 (which is 11) and 12 below 23 (also 11) i.e.
23 - 12 = 11
(-1) + 12 = 11
Hope this helps.
