You are right Peter. Christ embraced poverty in a world that focused on wealth and status. Sound familiar? I believe that proclamation still rings true today and the church still needs to draw the focus to how Jesus was born as a countercultural statement. We would prefer our savior born into at least middle class, in a hospital, etc. but that’s not the story.
