Government of Punjab (GoP) has planned River Ravi Front Urban Development on both banks of the river along 46 km long stretch that is contiguous to Lahore District’s Northern and Western boundaries. The River Ravi front Urban Development Project is the proposed development project that will convert dying River Ravi into perennial fresh water
body along with high quality urban development on its both banks (i.e. 5 Km each) for a stretch of approximately 46 km from Ravi Syphon to Mohlanwal - Lahore. The stretch of 46 km is divided in to three phases. The length of river alignment falling under Phase-I is 14 km. Phase-I is further sub divided in sub packages Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) is the Executing Agency of the Project, that aims to create a water body within the waterway of Ravi River by constructing river control structure to head-up water. Initially a 3 km long River Earthen 2 steps Embankment (Lower and Upper Promenade) is proposed to be constructed from 6 km D/S of Ravi
Syphon on Right bank of the River Ravi. In this package scope, only upper promenade construction is involved.
