I really loved Mk42 suit, it has just the right amount of futuristic-ness while not abandoning the whole mechanical suit thing.
It also shows that without flight power, the suit is a dead weight to Tony. It may protect him but without it working to full capacity he's having to support it's weight, and it's constantly leaving him dangling, unable to pull himself up from a hang.
Eh, I'm more of a mark 43.
It's literally Basically mark 42. Same design.
But the weapons actually work. Everything works.
And inverted red-gold color to actually look like iron man.

Tbh that kinda engineering was probs why it was like that. Suit probably was redirecting and redistributing the power from it’s initial setup (smaller thrusters for each piece) to the main thrusters.

The action scenes in this movie were just incredible. I know it has flaws and people crap on it, but I really enjoyed this movie... action scenes were just great to watch and this part at the end with Jarvis just had me cheering.

Yep, that was a huge flaw of the movie. He had every reason to activate, first and foremost pepper was in danger, but for some reason he thought that he should fight by only using mk42. He could have mk42 on pepper to protect her while his other suits would come out and destroy the helicopters, it just doesn't make any sense, still a great movie though!
I can’t believe that he had no external defenses for his property, but he learned his lesson and I’m sure that everything he owns is well protected now😊

Fun fact: This scene is largely practical effects, not CGI. They actually built that room irl with a tilting floor to simulate the collapse

It is a prototype for the whole mobile suit-up thing. it isn't outfitted with weapons nor equipped with battle data because the transformer transport thing is new. It has the basic repulsor tho which is more than enough to fight them off if it didn't malfunction that time.
He could’ve easily used the mark 7 because that one easily took down several chitauri ships and even a leviathan

i mean the mark 50 looked like it was from ps4 but the mark 85 was much better with the slightly clunky look but it was still nanotech. also without nanotech tony would not have a gauntlet so they would be sure to lose.

If it was another suit then they would be dead. All his other suits apart from bones (mk 41) couldn't be equipped easily like this one.

This movie made me wonder why Tony never made an imprisonment suit. He trapped Killian in mk42 you'd think he could make a suit to trap someone inside and it locks with no weapons and automated flight

Three things that don't make sense in this scene 1. Why would Tony issue an open invitation to the Ten Rings without countermeasures? 2. Why does the suit show up on heat vision? 3. How can Tonys arm bear the whole weight of the suit when he pulls himself from the rubble?

2)It's a reactor-powered exoskeleton with a pilot inside
3) It was only the gauntlet that came off. The resot of his arm was still supported.
the press already knew his address so enemy could have attacked even without his invitation. the real question is how US air force wasnt bothered with unidentified choppers and rhodes not on alert as he knew tony just invited the ten rings
His house is also in Malibu. That's a few miles away from a Naval base that could've seen and responded to a terrorist attack.
What i don't really get is how he could give his suit to Pepper. As i remember he injected something into his body to be able to call his suit. But i haven't seen the movie in a long time so correct me if i'm wrong.

It's a shame the MK41 Armor also known as Bones and the same dissembling capabilities of the MK42 didn't have the Call Function installed. As seen in the final battle, Bones was fully functioning and armed to the teeth against enemies.

If you were gonna announce to the world that you are an billionaire with most high-tech weaponry and say come and get me, having 0 security staff or measures is just dumb. Ironman 3 writing is terrible but got away a lot thanks to the action.
Take a deep breath the A.I. put opposite force to his hand through his repulsors and rejoint to tonys arm....and restore suits energy and lift him and rescue him hatss off
So he can shoot the explosives and piano but can’t shoot the helicopters with the repulsers?

maaaaan what happened to marvel. In this movie Tony showed how much anxiety he had and we all felt that for him and in this scene he gave to suit to pepper to protect her and make sure she was ok but at 1:49 that is a sigh of relief for him to have his suit back on so HE could feel safe.
It's funny, but in every film about iron man, he is unprepared for this or that situation. First, the second part with Ivan Vanko. But if in the second part it is still possible to attribute this to inexperience, then in the third part, after all, it was already possible to leave yourself at least one combat suit for such situations. I remember Batman, who was always ready for anything and iron man is a little depressing

Now don’t get me wrong I do love the mark for you to suit, but what the hell was Tony thinking using that suit in this situation when it’s a prototype he knew damn well it wasn’t functional enough to work with him in the sea. He should’ve use Mark seven or for God sakes any other of the 40+ armors that were literally inside that house. It’s not like he didn’t have time to either if he had just picked the suit that was already fully functional, he could’ve gotten out of that situation no problem.
This scene really made me mad once I found out he had 30 something suits that could have ended this fight easily instead of relying on a prototype that barely works. Not to mention the fact that the suit pieces individually can fly no problem, but when their suit is together suddenly it has no flight power.😤
