This came out kind of cool. No tapping in this one, I can't seem to get tapping to come through strong on this Tele no matter what compressor settings I mess with. Whatever
Keep going! It's not as difficult as you think to get started with your own stuff. I started by sort of learning and copying ideas from other peoples music. Helps to break down how to build a riff or an idea out.
Just live with your ax in your hands for a while. Do not put it down. Do not have expectations. Just develop intuition and be curious and allow yourself to soak into the instrument without a particular goal in mind. Just get to know the instrument intimately, string by string
@thenatesimon do u use theory? like basic progressions adding 7th 9th and 13th? or do u play random chords in different positions to find smth interesting?
@@matthewjacox4244 this is the best comment i've seen on a guitar post. people try and make it scientific and explain it in technical terms when literally the BEST way to play any instrument is to just feel the instrument and understand it naturally as you keep playing it more and more, and just let your skill naturally increase without even thinking about it. it's as simple as it sounds
I'm just a beginner playing around with the tuning and I had some similar ideas with the melody like that. I'll try out these chords, awesome sounding stuff bro.
The pickups (especially the neck) on this tele were suuuper weak so that would not really work. I actually ended up selling/trading it for some pedals a few days after I recorded this.
Neither. I don't really know any music theory. So I just come up with stuff from messing around and finding what sounds good. I might have looked up a chord or two for this one, but I can't remember.
I actually sold this tele right after this video. It was just a no name partscaster. Going through an Earthquaker Plumes (I think) and into an HX Stomp I use as my amp and straight out of that into garageband.
im a beginner so i dont really understand how a lot of this stuff works but i am YEARNING for the day when I can write my own music

You need no theory or skill on an instrument, begin writing music right now, being good on an instrument has nothing to do with writing good song

that little melody line before the chords come in was perfect.
Thanks!
Sounds like something merchant ships would scream over
You can't convince me that math rock isn't the best
That sounds amazing! nice shirt btw:)
Thanks! Glad someone noticed the shirt haha.
WE LOVE FIDLAR
It’s not Midwest emo without a tele.
Love the fidlar shirt!!!
Let's spread the word to start calling this tuning "Face Juice"
so freaking pretty
Everything reminds me of her 😔
this is the most beautiful riff i've ever seen around here
This shit is beautiful my dude :_:
that was amazing and I fucking love fidlar
Nate, That sounded so cool. thanks!!
Sounds great!
A little distortion works wonders for bringing out tapping. Try a tube screamer or blues driver
neat, also, i respect the Fidlar shirt

Sounded like motor away by guided by voices at one point
NUT

NICE SHIRT
Shoutout FIDLAR
very nice bro
V nice
Add a synth an it would sound a lot more like the cure then Midwest emo
nice tone
Thanks! I like how the strumming part kind of sounds like a big bell.
This fucking rocks
I'd love to create music with you! Subscribed!
Move the pickup selection to the neck position to have your taps come through more clearly.

Ive got the same shirt. Im just not nearly as good at guitar, good shit though.
turnover if they were Midwest emo
this is nice but i need that fidlar tee. where can a brother purchase?
Not sure if this shirt is still available, but I bought it from their website a while ago!

Neither. It was a no name partscaster

Yes it is.
Do you have the fret board memorized in these different tunings as well or are you just carrying shapes over
