It’s neither distraction nor intentional. It’s only the result of thousands of years of evolution making our brains to pay attention only to moving objects (prey/predator) and not to trees. This should be tough to all riders.

My uncle's son was killed because he pulled over on the side of a highway and was trying to figure out what was wrong with his engine. He walked around the car, not into the freeway, he thought he was safe because he walked onto the curve. He was on the shoulder of the freeway, and another driver lost control of the wheel and struck him, killing him instantly. That's why, ESPECIALLY on a motorcycle you should never pull over on the side of a highway. The chances of injury or even death skyrocket because the unexpected can happen at anytime. If you are facing an issue, whether your on a motorcycle or car, try to find the nearest parking lot or any safe place that is away from any busy road, then you can address the issue. NEVER PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME.
When applying for a motorcycle license you must learn how to break Sideview mirrors then run away from your actions, how to escalate any situation, anti anger management lessons, and how to disregard any safety laws.

He walked around the car, not into the freeway, he thought he was safe because he walked onto the curve. He was on the shoulder of the freeway, and another driver lost control of the wheel and struck him, killing him instantly. That's why, ESPECIALLY on a motorcycle you should never pull over on the side of a highway. The chances of injury or even death skyrocket because the unexpected can happen at anytime. If you are facing an issue, whether your on a motorcycle or car, try to find the nearest parking lot or any safe place that is away from any busy road, then you can address the issue. NEVER PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME.
