Having recently taken up fly fishing (normally a carp fisherman) I am confused about not being able to release trout after landing them (Wessex Water sites). I was told they get very distressed after being caught and die quite easy. Not distressing getting shot through a tube into the reservoir in the first place? I don't eat fish and so having to kill them seems such a crime for such a beautiful creature. Is there another reason they can't be released that I don't know about? If so, why can Bristol Water venues allow them to be set free? It is very confusing.

shame about the distracting horrible music that isn't necessary.
