Larry: Hold Me Bob! Bob: I would if I could man. I think the crazy thing is I don't even think little little kids are really watching the show as much without Parents around. I knew a few kids who liked the Netflix show, but so few kids have even heard of the Yippee series.
That's because of the marketing! If they promoted it more to classic fans, AND had a better way to watch it, both kids and adults would be able to watch it, making it more inclined for families with little ones, making children want to watch it more. The reason we get mostly garbage for children's television is because kids don't have a huge attention span, and with parents not watching something with their kids, what will they watch that will grab their attention? I mean even Disney movies kids can't justify watching without their parents unless they've already seen it with them. LIKE WHAT ARE YOU DOING BIG IDEA. I feel like universal if they didn't give so much freedom to Big Idea with marketing would at least give them the Kung Fu Panda 4 treatment where they respect and honor the adults who have supported the franchise. And you know what the worst part is, because Universal loves money they'd say yes to a Veggietales movie written by Phil and Mike right now with the boom in Christian media because it would sell good! Shame on you Big Idea!
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a LarryBoy/VeggieTales movie by definition without Phil Vischer, Mike Nawrocki, and the rest of the original crew not only voicing but writing, etc.
Please! I really hope they don't just have Phil and Mike voice but also work on the story, because without them having control over the Larry Boy movie, it's probably not going to be that good.
It’s like another thing I love (Thomas and Friends), it’s something that people of all ages can enjoy. Even with the children’s characters, there are moments that the Adults can enjoy. Corporate stuff really screwed both over to be honest. They really deserved better
I agree, I don't see Veggietales as a preschool show, Veggietales is an entertainment for the whole family, and I grew up watching it, I don't care what others say.
Exactly! Phil always intended for it to be a show for families. Not just to entertain the kids, but also for the PARENTS for them to use it as a teaching tool for the kids. Leslie REALLY lost the plot.

This was back in 2004, and to this day I still say Veggietales is for everyone. The songs are awesome, the humor is snarky and on par with the likes of Pixar and it makes learning the Bible *gasp* fun!
The whole vibe of this is exactly what I think went on in the writer’s room. You’d have to be on some heavy stuff to think that this situation is okay, whoever is in charge of VeggieTales now.
Of course, one of their old slogans was “fun for the whole family” and that’s what made Veggietales so great. Kids who normally wouldn’t care what they watched so long as they were watching something got to bond with their parents by watching Veggietales. Goodness, if you look at the stats, the most popular shows are those that cater to all ages/the whole family! It was always supposed to be about family coming together to watch Christian content that wasn’t extremely watered down because of the “target audience.” That’s what made In the House so weak, I think. They were catering to an audience that just didn’t understand/care and thus watered down their themes. Even The Veggietales Show was a little too watered down (though scores better than the Netflix shows).
Well, this is all a controversy to nostalgic adults (like myself here) who grew up with VeggieTales back in the late 1990s-early 2000s. I was a kid in the 2000s, like you Nintega Dario, and others here who were born in the late 1990s. Man, I know I feel so old, as I'm a young adult here at 25 years old (and also as well, I'm a Roman-Catholic person here, as it's my view of religion, as a Filipino-American person here, while others who view my content is most likely Christian). Man, I'm never too old for VeggieTales, and other cartoons I grew up with aside from SpongeBob SquarePants (obviously with target demographic made for kids). Same with Nintendo, as Nintendo is not just for kids, but video game lovers here who are older than the 6-12 age demographic. I still support Chuck E. Cheese as well.
