@@nickhiggsthesinger Another GREAT arrangement by Alex (you may have done it not sure) is Requiem from DEH as well. It's sung by Mallory Betchel and is absolute magic.

I love when casts get together to do songs like this! The team at Wicked and Frozen have done some recently as well as Les Miz and Phantom for their 25ths. Just magical ❤
I've never seen Dear Evan Hansen but love this song. Sam's vibrato on "Cause the sun burns bright" near the end of song is insane. So powerful and clear. They're all fantastic but his voice is my favourite
Nick, didn’t realize you were from Toronto. I had the privilege of singing in a concert with Robert Markus and our community choir. He is amazing performer and professional. Love your videos and TikToks and makes me want to be a better choral singer
mr. lacamoire also did the arrangements for dear even Hansen, Hamilton, in the heights....greatest showman, 9 to 5 and won Tonys Grammys and Olivier awards.
I cry every time i hear these 4 singing this version...it's perfection to me. The message, the voices, and the harmony are more than my soul can contain. Bravo! Thanks for the wonderful review, Nick.
Hi Nick - Lovely reaction to a huge favorite video of mine. I did a cabaret act for years with my three best friends, and everything you said about blend and listening was dead-on. One add to that: Watching. Sam & Andrew have this going on like fury. (Insane chemistry - producers take note.) It's what jazz combos do, classical chamber groups... being totally present in the moment, note to note. The other point just makes me happy all over: This video was conceived and shot as Sam was about to open in the London production, a welcome to the fold. Such a lovely gesture. Thanks for reminding me just what an energy boost this piece is.
This Musical has helped me through some very dark days. I heard it when it first came out with Ben Platt and thoroughly enjoy every interpretation since then. I cry at them all.
I watched Robert Markus earn his standing in theatre for years; he amazes me. He is my all-time #1 best ever favourite Riff-Raff in Rocky Horror. It should have been recorded, there's never been anyone who has done it better. I saw him do the lead in Next to Normal... jaw-dropping. And as Evan Hansen, wow, just wow.
Wonderful reaction and analysis, Nick! New subscriber here. This song is so under-rated. It never fails to bring me to tears. I love the double meaning of it being a heartbreaking song about a friend who has passed, but made even more heartbreaking by the thought that Evan is essentially describing a friendship he never had, and perhaps never could have.
Hi Nick, coming late to this REACT but love it. Needless to say I love the 4 Evans vid and that's how I discovered your REACT. Unlike some other so called coaches reactions you breakdown the arrangement and singing so well your explanations add to my enjoyment and understanding of the piece (beyond getting the shivers from their incredible harmonies) . I'm lucky enough to live in London and go to the theatre every week so it's a passion for me. Have you watched Little Big Things? Available on National Theatre at Home alongside many other British Theatre shows.

My all time favorite rendition of this song! As for you ......I have a suggestion for a song...... "Out There" from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame.....OR Evermore from the live action Beauty and the Beast. Both are AMAZING!!!!
It's sounds like this that make me wish that I could sing. When I try, the geese gather around me as though I had been calling to them. All I've got for making music is my saxophone. I have to let that sing for me.
@@nickhiggsthesinger Well,I may have been exaggerating about the geese ...a little. As for the sax skills, thank you! I started on tenor long ago but, I did not own that one. Now I'm exclusively a soprano sax player. I have a curved one and a straight one. The curved one seems to have a mind of its own compared to the straight one. It takes a lot more finesse to get it to behave properly. I am having loads of fun with both of them, though and constantly learning new things with them.
Oohhh I love this! Glad you reacted to this and on point comments! This was so wholesome and I love love the arrangement!! And yes, I watched No Hard Feelings and was s surprised o see Andrew there because I had no idea!! And I fell in love with him there and with his ability to level with Jennifer Lawrence!
I've loved this video for a very long time, what always gets me when it comes to dear Evan. Hansen is how much of the internet seems to only think Ben platt can actually play it and I try to watch dear Adam Hansen on. I think it was Netflix with Ben platt and I just could not get on board with it. I'm very glad I got to see Sam perform it in London and because he was so good I then went on to see the next play. He's done in London which he's just as good in
I’m really lucky, in my city in the UK a LOT of west end musicals travel down because the facilities are so good. Next year I’m seeing the Book of Mormon, Dear Evan Hanson and Hamilton. Last year I saw Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and his amazing Technicolor dreamcoat. All for around £50 ☺️
This mind sound really random, but the second I heard you speak, I thought "Wow, what a beautiful voice" 🙈😅 cause somehow, the depth amd timbre of your voice scratched some itch in my ADHD-brain 😂😅

Alex Lacamoire is a legend.
You mention Hamilton; he was also the music director of Hamilton.
I saw Stephen at the Fox in St. Louis. He was flawless from the first note to last.
Listen to some of Stephen's solo videos, where he arranges nine vocal parts for himself. Amazing.
