There is a really long (but thorough) video series on youtube that someone made that explained the Drakengard universe and how everything ties in. Automata is basically the sequel to Nier as a result of a specific ending that you can achieve in Nier. Yoko Taro is an insane genius.
And I don't know why but man their voices aged really well. I think they sound better on 2021 than their voices on 2010. It feels more emotional and I love it ❤️❤️❤️
Except Nier's VA, unless they get the old man Nier VA as his voice actor. Remember, OG Replicant was JP only and what we get outside JP is Gestalt where they change Nier into old man because westerners like buff old man more than slim bishounen, they said.
I recommend people, who haven’t played Nier before, to not read the responses to comments here. There’s a person going around and intentionally spoiling major plots of the game

Honestly the fact they got as many voice actors back for this game as is is, impressive and Liam will always be Weiss’s voice so glad they didn’t forget to put him back. What’s more impressive is probably Laura doing Kaine I cannot imagine that contract was cheap lol

Apparently they said in an interview that if Replicant v.122 sells half the amount what Automata did, they'll consider either adding the father as an option into the game or making a remaster of Gestalt, not sure which.

@@thebigzan It's not that close to Automata. No on-the-fly weapon switching, no aerial combos, probably no dodge offset/witch time etc. The animations don't appear to be mocaped either.

Eventho in the beginning, the choir is beautiful, but the Gods Bound by Rules they showed in the prev trailer are Big Mehh 😕 They really need to give us the option to switch between new and Original songs.
They would have to get the gestalt guy and re record all of his voice lines and alter some other ones (because a young teen boy confessing his love for a middle aged man is a bit weird.)

I was afraid this wasn't gonna have an english version given this is a remake of Replicant not Gestalt. Thankfully we will be able to hear Kaine's beautiful ranting once again.
I only had a few problems with the game and from what they've shown they've fixed em. This will mow surpass automata in every way and it will become many people's new favorite. An incredible game made even better

I pity the poor souls discovering this masterpiece of a game 11 years later. The original Nier was an unseen diamond, overshadowed by the rather mediocre Final Fantasy XIII that was released at the same time.
Automata is one of my favorite games of all time. I haven't even played Nier. I am very much looking forward to the emotional pain this game is going to inflict on me. And then the revelations that this game is going to bring me about Automata.

I was afraid this wasn't gonna have an english version given this is a remake of Replicant not Gestalt.
Thankfully we will be able to hear Kaine's beautiful ranting once again.
Reading the comments, I'm probably gonna experience better storytelling than NieR Automata, that's nearly unbeatable.

I only had a few problems with the game and from what they've shown they've fixed em. This will mow surpass automata in every way and it will become many people's new favorite.

I wish Kaine had more screentime as a playable character.
I pity the poor souls discovering this masterpiece of a game 11 years later. The original Nier was an unseen diamond, overshadowed by the rather mediocre Final Fantasy XIII that was released at the same time.
Final fantasy 13 was better though
Automata is one of my favorite games of all time.
I haven't even played Nier.
I am very much looking forward to the emotional pain this game is going to inflict on me. And then the revelations that this game is going to bring me about Automata.
As much a loved Automata it didn't come close to the emotions this game put me through.
I need to hear the full song for Blubird and Emil-Karma , NOW! (p.s. I'm never ready for the Shadowlord song, I cry every time)

I love this game SO much. It's is easily my 2010 GotY. I'm SO glad NieR: Automata did as well as it did cause that's pretty much the reason we're getting this remake.
