Overcame the biggest challenge Zheng/Huang tightly, I thought Yuta/Higashino would win this time. In fact, they've won first set and had match point in set 2 but their mentality can't stand in the deciding moment, their stamina were crushed in set 3 after 2 3-set matches and it's over. Yuta did all his best and I don't blame Higashino bcs she has improved a lot, without her they couldn't get it to 2 finals in a row
In my opinion, because they're home pair they might put the pressure on themselves a lot that why they can't focus in the last game.
@@MM-gr1bn it was probably because they lost set 2 after putting so much work, missing two match points so they felt mentally and physically drained while the Thai pair had momentum and increased spirits.
@@wimpymike yep, in the opposite way the Thai pair they are getting confident, anyway I can't wait for the next tournament.

Good to see Higashino got better in her defense today, but many instances today she got to the net early but fail to anticipate for the follow up returns, thus lost opportunity and situation reset. This is rather disappointing to see, knowing what the potential for this pair. Hope she can improve upon this and get to the top soon which they truly deserve.

Good match. Even though Thai pair won, I think overall watanabe/higashino played better: rotation was smooth, Arisa was strong at the net,defense was excellent, good attack and points made. Thai pair made quite a few errors throughout, and rotation was a bit off but edged them in third game because Dechapol's smash and finding the holes in Arisa's defense. And I think Sapsiree staying in front rather than trying to cover and attack in back made a difference in helping setup Dechapol like traditional XD. Exciting match, congrats Thailand...but good to see this Japanese pair back strong. They defeated Zheng/Huang in Semis so I think they are getting back on top!

Yep. I do think Thailand had some good strategy in third game, they started to move the shuttle around more and make Watanabe move, get him out of position to force errors and split him off from Arisa so easier to target her.
@@hellostephanie yep, you're right! And in the third games Thai pair they're bringing more confident and Yatu/Arisa put pressure on yourself because they are home favorite.(in my opinion)

I am a big fan of yuta and arisa.
But arisa really needs to improve her defensive game especially against the other top 4 pairs. Other than all the usual errors under pressure which are normal, she’s losing around 5-7 points each game from cross smashes alone which is arguably easier to defend in comparison to straight smashes (that’s why female players lift cross court). If she can half the number of points conceded to cross smashes, they’d be winning more that’s for sure. Pairs would think twice about smashing cross court when they need quick points.
I know what you mean but don't forget the opponents keeping beating on her (Arisa.)
@@MM-gr1bn every mixed doubles pair will have this problem, but currently that’s what is the difference being world number 1 and world number 3. The defence. So if they want to break through to the top, she has to get better in defence. Watch yesterdays game against Zheng/ Huang. They were lucky to win thanks to a genius shot from yuta.
Yuta used to have weak smashes, he’s gotten better and he’s now more of a threat from the back. I’m sure Arisa can get better too. If she does get better in the coming months, they can easily break into the world number one spot.
@@jnxs1234 yep I agree, every pair have a weakness and I am sure Arisa she can improve her skills she still young and have many years to play and improve herself.
@@MM-gr1bn that’s what I like about them. They always improve their weaknesses over the years. They will become number 1 in the next year or so.
@@jnxs1234 I think Yuta is the best men in mixed doubles sector. He is more dangerous than Siwei in my opinion. However Arisa is still not good enough to challenge Yaqiong in the front court. Yaqiong is one of the best female XD player behind Gao Ling, Liliyana Natsir, and Zhao Yunlei.

HIgashino needs to be dropped from team , Yuta alone cannot win titles, Japan is going this far only because of Yuta
Yuta might be with Zheng the best mixed-male player ... its sad Arisa does not perform on this level and she does so many mistakes...
In my opinion they should replace her ...
