Jiko BG, at what age did you start learning English and for how long have you been using it? Because I'm also Bulgarian but the English words keep interfering with the color itself, even though I'm saying it in Bulgarian. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the length of exposure to a given language
It sure does, I had trouble aswell (non native speaker, but like B2/C1), it makes it a bit easier, but I had to keep immensely focused on my native language.
Yes, that's the origin of the test: found Russian spies. Those who spoke English intelligent officers struggled but Russians did not. When Russian language was used, it quickly identified those who were Russian spies. Cool huh?
Round 1 - "It's too slow and too easy" Round 2 - "This is just about the right speed" Round 3 - "This is fast but I can handle the challenge" Round 4 - "Oh yeah, I'm 56 years old and went to one too many Van Halen concerts"
I think there is a little strategy, you can controllably unfocus on the word and all you need to worry about is read the color of the blurry word out loud!
You defeat the entire point of the test, the whole point is your brain recognizing the word but your conscious taking over and saying the color. It's a not a game to have a strategy to, it's a test. Only thing you proved in this test is your inability to comprehend its purpose.
Round 1: Requires little to no effort. Round 2: Requires little to no effort. Round 3: Requires minimal effort. Round 4: My prefrontal cortex is having issues. Therefore, I may not perform as well as I could.
I started out saying everything wrong, the i stutured at the start to stop myself from saying the word, and changing it to the colour, then i could say the comournof some immediately, eound 4 is too fast tho
This test measures latent inhibition controlled by the prefrontal cortex. People who have difficulty with this task have been found to be more likely to be schizophrenic, on the schizophrenic spectrum, or related to a schizophrenic.
+LUSCID [your user-friendly guide to Science] i am 11 and i started talking english since i was like.... 9??? maybe 10. and im from the netherlands. so it was strange, because everytime i saw for example Red. i didnt say it in my language, but other colors like blue and green i did say them in dutch. i dont know how it works so yeah.
And THAT is how scientists spend their time? ...It was as easy or as difficult for me as any other mental searching for a word - which for me is quite difficult. The only effect was - I started calling BLACK even when the title "Round 2" or whatever came up... So, what was supposed to be the point of the exercise?
idk what the stroop effect is but for me the hardest part was remembering the name of the actual color with suggestion of the name of a different color in my face, but in the last phase i couldnt keep up passed the first few cus u have to like unlock the name of the color lol the best part was i said the 4th one when it was like on the 8th color and i just started laughing
Here is how you do that. Don't look at the whole word. Just look at a little corner of the first letter. Edit: Okay, I did some research and learned that everyone in the world has already figured out this trick.
I started making mistakes on round 2.. my brain isn’t very good with speed that and flexibility.. Is that a sign of autism or ADHD or some other neuro-disorder/learning disability? I have a type of learning disability like dyslexia as well as irlen syndrome (irlen syndrome is light sensitivity but a bit more complicated than just light sensitivity.. it also effects reading, concentration, balance etc)
Just speak what color is this, what color is this then say the color! you will pass the test Cause you are preparing the brain for the color not the text.
tested my friends on round 4 one of them got 3 I got 5 and the rest go none I was writing the numbers so I just gave up on round for I said you got most of them wong I give you none
Here’s my internal monologue for round four: “Okay, Ready! Blue- Hey! These things are going too- Oh, it’s over!” 😂
💀
very similar to mine lol
It was easy until round 4 the letters went way to fast
ikr
@@hi_9035 thank you?
The speed if the letters I. Round four was insignificant. The only essential information was the speed of the colors!
A tip : you can watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Vincenzo Genesis yea, I've been using Flixzone} for years myself :)
Them : ROUND 1
Me: BLACK!
😂🤣
😅 Me too!
😂😂😂😂 anxiety level 1k
Weirdly, it gets more difficult when the word and color match.
yh opposite of what we expectoo
It is easy when you are not a native English speaker and you say the colour in your native language.
That's interesting! I never considered how being multilingual could affect this task.
... or you take of your glasses.

I need a list of the colors. I spent too much time wondering if something was pick or purple or yellow or orange.
I certainly agree
they confused magenta with pink...
Same here.. found myself saying wtf is that color?!
I couldn't even SEE the color before they changed it
At the last round, by the time I say Blue and Black the whole round ends, impossible.
It is pretty fast!
put it 0.75 ;) or something aha xD
When I say it out loud I can't beat round 4, but when I say it in my head I could beat it
Really?
Are u kidding
Round 1 - "It's too slow and too easy" Round 2 - "This is just about the right speed" Round 3 - "This is fast but I can handle the challenge" Round 4 - "Oh yeah, I'm 56 years old and went to one too many Van Halen concerts"
So good
If look at it from your peripheral vision this becomes easy
That’s clever
Well you could have used squares of colors on the last one and I can't process the words out my mouth that fast.
I think there is a little strategy, you can controllably unfocus on the word and all you need to worry about is read the color of the blurry word out loud!
yes your right. @XTMsams
@XTMsams its pretty rare to NOT be able to unfocus, not the opposite
It's not that easy for someone with adhd, and i'm really bad at unfocusing
You defeat the entire point of the test, the whole point is your brain recognizing the word but your conscious taking over and saying the color. It's a not a game to have a strategy to, it's a test. Only thing you proved in this test is your inability to comprehend its purpose.
On round four I could not speak it fast enough and got stuck behind trying to talk in my head
Round 1: 0:41
Round 2: 1:30
Round 3: 2:02
Round 4: 2:21
I hope this helps you ❤
Me: I'll open TH-cam to know how to read a textbook effectively.
Few minutes later: How fast is your brain?
It was amazing.... And eye catching....
i can't say the words aloud fast enough for round 4 lol
failed at round 4 :)
That last round took me out. I don't speak that fast 😅
Which is not exactly about how fast your brain is but also how fast you can activate your articulatory devices, so the test is rubbish ;-)
I made it!
Un tell round four...
Really it's amazing and such last round is quite difficult 🎉
Easier than I expected
Thanks for information
I failed at the half of round 4. o no.
look at the last letter only it helps a lot
for round four I couldn’t even say the actual words on the screen before it skips
It was easy until my mouth couldn't keep up anymore
My mind: This will be easy.
My colorblindness: This is impossible.
I got all right, even the 4th round
Liar
Round 1: Requires little to no effort.
Round 2: Requires little to no effort.
Round 3: Requires minimal effort.
Round 4: My prefrontal cortex is having issues. Therefore, I may not perform as well as I could.
that was pretty fun
Lasted till round 4
Kept cursing out loud every time I messed up 😂😂
it was really easy until round 4 which i got caught off guard by the speed and couldn’t keep up after a quarter of the way through
0:43 - Round 1
1:31 - Round 2
2:04 - Round 3
2:21 - Round 4
super easy but 4 was fast and I didn't respond on time. I'm adhd, does that help?
I started out saying everything wrong, the i stutured at the start to stop myself from saying the word, and changing it to the colour, then i could say the comournof some immediately, eound 4 is too fast tho
this thing messed up my brain but i almost got it at the end lol

Normal people : do the test like any other normal test me: takes off glasses*
Pretty easy for all but the last
Round is very easy ❤❤❤❤
round was amazing😂😂
round 4*
Round 4th was really tough bruh!!
Round 4 is insane
Yes I can do it .
For some reason this is incredibly easy for me idk why
Maine sare colours guess kar liye hai 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I got round 2 but was unprepared for round 3 but once I reset it I got it easily. I don't feel like attempting round 4...
And THAT is how scientists spend their time? ...It was as easy or as difficult for me as any other mental searching for a word - which for me is quite difficult. This reminds me of the game Simon Says
Easy first 3 😁, 4 was impossible except reading. 😥😉
round 1-3 was easier but 4 was 🤯
Red Blue
idk what the stroop effect is but for me the hardest part was remembering the name of the actual color with suggestion of the name of a different color in my face, but in the last phase i couldnt keep up passed the first few cus u have to like unlock the name of the color lol the best part was i said the 4th one when it was like on the 8th color and i just started laughing
Purple 💜💜 orange 🧡🧡 yellow 💛💛 red ♥️♥️ pink 💕💕
i didn't even have enough time to speak it out in round 4,it changes too fast, bro.I think its impossible for human
If you cover most of the word except for the last letter with your hand, it will become easier.
I did round 1,2,3 but 3 was harder becoz it is fast the colors are not hard
I wanna know what song was playing. It's great.
It was really easy for me
In round 4, I was able to finish 4 words' colour but then I started lagging.
round 4 wiped me out
bro round 4 said 💃💃💃💃💃
Wait what?
Who exactly can do round 4??💀
I can do lvl 4 in my native language,Indonesian but only half of it 😭😂
i can do it easy
Here is how you do that. Don't look at the whole word. Just look at a little corner of the first letter.
Edit: Okay, I did some research and learned that everyone in the world has already figured out this trick.
What the heck are these colors?
It was easy but round four i didnt get time to say😂
I finished round 2.
I got up to Round 4
Round 4 was to fast to word but i cleared it
I does not pass the round 4
I started making mistakes on round 2.. my brain isn’t very good with speed that and flexibility..
Is that a sign of autism or ADHD or some other neuro-disorder/learning disability? I have a type of learning disability like dyslexia as well as irlen syndrome (irlen syndrome is light sensitivity but a bit more complicated than just light sensitivity.. it also effects reading, concentration, balance etc)
no
How does this have anything to do with autism
Round 3 Me: Oh no I’m missing the other colors blah blah ahhhhhh!
Round 4 Me: blah blah blah blah oh god this is way to fast!
At the last round, I was repeating all the names of the colors in the world😂😂😂😂
The video is OK without the music
Just speak what color is this, what color is this then say the color! you will pass the test
Cause you are preparing the brain for the color not the text.
I messed up 1 part of 3
Put round 4 on .75x speed
Round 2
Round 4 was difficult as it was so fast
I did round 1-3 but Round 4 was just way too fast
Holy sh*t. My dyslexia just became a super power! Oh there's got to be a way to use this to f**k with people!
The trick is too squint so you cant read the word very well but you can still see the colour :j
4th level was very fast
Not done 😢
at 0:47 is BlackPink, AHHH MY INNER STAN
I can do round 1 2 3 easily but my brain struggles with 4
I could not do #4, hard test
This was easy all i did was not read
In a way you could say I used less of my brain
Ohh yeahhhh
What this prove actually? Its easy for me. Is it because i have ADHD?
Green 💚💚 blue 💙💙 black 🖤🖤
Round 4 is little bit tough
the last one was stupid fast wtff DEAD
Use ur hand to block out all butnthebfirst letter
tested my friends on round 4 one of them got 3 I got 5 and the rest go none I was writing the numbers so I just gave up on round for I said you got most of them wong I give you none
