As a jeweler I agree with his statement that if someone orders a custom piece in steel, silver, with cubic zirconia, or a diamond simulant but they are open and honest that it’s silver or not real diamonds then I definitely respect the person because sometimes people just can’t/don’t have the financial means to spend a lot. I always say the honest folks get the most respect then those who try to fake it. Had one customer who would buy the most expensive chains, but always wore his fake Rolex and was even straight up with me like “yea this Rolex is fake and really don’t care much if people notice or not, it just lets me know when my lunch break ends”

Diamonds were expensive because they were considered scarce. However, they are in abundance and artificially controlling the market to keep inflated prices.
So the question is... are there really valuable? And if so, why? They are not rare anymore. We now have technology to make 100% carbon diamonds with the exact same molecular structure. These are real diamonds, man made.
Imagine this. If we can somehow make gold with technology. With the exact same molecular structure and elements that are indistinguishable with any test from mined gold. Will gold still be valuable? Food for thought kids.
