Here's an idea: after the signpost uncommons, mention the fixing lands. Knowing how good fixing you can expect as you listen to the rest of the set review sounds pretty useful to me. In this case, it also colors landfall stuff and how difficult it is to produce colorless.
Yeah I think they underrated the landfall stuff because of that, it’s super easy to get 2 or even 3 landfall in a turn since you don’t need to crack them right away.
A note about Path of Annihilation: it turns each Spawn you have into two mana, because you can tap it for a color then sac it for the Colorless. It takes you from 4 to 9, not just 4 to 7!
the whole saccing a modified creature thing works really well with any of the living weapon, you're just saccing a 0/0 and get to move the equipment after
1:24:09 I think the main purpose of the reliquary is to return MDFC lands you played prior to your hand to cast as a spell late game, probably not the best card but I think I see their design vision for it.
I remember opening a Heroes Downfall in Theros prerelease and sold it for $25 that day. Reading Breathe your Last by comparison really demonstrates how far the game has come.

More novelty than powercreep. Downfall was a chase specifically because it was able to destroy planswalkers cleanly where otherwise it was a weird redirect rule to deal with them. Once they decided Planeswalkers were around to stay, they had to start printing ways to deal with them regularly.
Would definitely like to see the fixing looped in with the multicolor at the start. The context of the fixing also looping into providing your colorless mana, providing landfall triggers, being permenants that are sacrificed and filling the yard, etc.
Regarding Brainsurge: I think the cycle of 10 common fetchlands makes it pretty appealing. Especially because the fetchlands can tap to cast the Brainsurge, then shuffle during your next upkeep. Lethal Throwdown: A big thing to remember is that Germs are inherently modified.
3:49:44 I think LSV is miscalculating how much mana this thing poops out. Those spawns can tap for any color AND THEN sac for a wingding. So this enchantment actually creates 4 temporary mana all on its own. This sort of craziness is the reason that Wizards retemplated gold tokens into treasure tokens back during Ixalan block. People don't realize how much mana they can get when their thing can both tap and sac in the middle of paying for a spell.
Things to note that were missed: the psuedo cascade dinosaur permanently exiles every card you see so if you super low roll you could be exiling 4, 5, 6, 7+ cards if you see a bunch of lands. It, in fact, is not too hard to get 2 land drops in a turn in red with all those landscapes running around.
Thanks, guys!! I watched this and got 2nd and 1st at my two prerelease events. (Decks were GB Counters and GW Modified. The latter combined Hydra Trainer and Golden-Tail Trainer to gross effect by stacking triggers strategically).
The reliquary actually seems very good to me. Return a saga with final trigger on the stack for lots of value, return a mdfc land to cast the spell side late game, or bounce a creature that makes energy on enter for a consistent stream of energy.
As judges, we need to be better overall at deescalating things. If someone is getting upset, or you know you are making a ruling that is that negative and impactful, ask the person to step aside with you, offer to sit and talk with them, especially when you have extra staff on hand. Was the DQ correct once it got to that point? Absolutely. In my experience, though, when you take a little time and talk things out with the person it rarely gets to the point it did at this RC. I hope whatever ends up being the judge system going forward has a standard system for teaching judges how to talk to people that isn't just telling them "I understand".
Distinguished Conjurer is extremely powerful interaction card that won me 6 straight sealed games on its own before 7-0. Didn't stay on the board in 7th game. Dog umbra is great as well.
Not 100% sure, but I think the episode visuals are done live rather than edited in after the fact. I feel like they've mentioned a producer doing them? Considering that, there's inevitably going to be the occasional mix-up.
Regarding the RC incident - I agree with everything you said LSV about how the judge ruling was too harsh but the player ended up deserving a DQ. I’m curious though - do you think them kicking him out of the Magic hall when he returned calmed down was reasonable? I personally think it seemed like a pretty big flex of power and pretty harsh but that’s just me.
One thing I found interesting was the C grades in this review, it felt pretty inconsistent. Certain cards written off as Ds, while a very wide range of power leveled cards were all Cs. Riddle Gate Gargoyle ended up being my anchor for the C grade since it was the first card. It seemed objectively much stronger than later cards also given Cs, like Scurrilous Sentry.
Nesting ground is great in +1/+1 decks if you have a bunch of those creature's that trigger when they get a +1/+1. Definitely not a first pick but if you're already on the +1/+1 train its good.
Legion leadership -> First strike with double power is much better than double strike. Any combats where they would trade in the second damage step will instead leave your creature alive.
Whriting Chrysalis is a stupid card for a common. It completely neutralizes any aggressive deck. Menace? Nope. Flying? Nope. Big creature? This one is probably bigger at its stage in the game. Don’t deal with it? Ramps to something more scary. Most damage based removal simply can’t deal with it so you’re left with using your premium removal on this common, which leaves them with 2 eldrazi spawn to cast something you actually want to use removal on. What were they thinking…
Very cute, but probably not super relevant, combo in the white black sacrifice deck: obstinate gargoyle plus nesting grounds with any sack outlet allows you to throw a bunch of -1/-1 counters on your opponent's stuff with sacrifice upside.
I still enjoy Limited Resources set reviews, but there has been some serious grade inflation. They only give about one D and one F for each color. All the cards can't be Bs and Cs. A card that doesn't usually make your deck is a D or a C- at best. The Limited Level-Ups podcast "keeps it real" with their set reviews. They are totally comfortable saying that they don't think this card to this mechanic is going to get there.
Umbra armor is the new name for it. They changed it for cultural sensitivity concerns (indigenous American totems are a closed cultural practice) like how they did by changing 'tribal' to kindred

The black Farewell-like boardclear can remove counters from players. Energy counters are put on the player, so technically that would be a situation where that matters.

52:00 "double power and gain first strike" is actually stronger than "gain double strike", because now my 2/2 kills their 4/4 and lives.
It also lets you quadruple the power if you can *also* add Double Strike somehow.

Brainsurge is actually quite good because of the common cycle of terramorphic expenses that every deck wants.

You could even play it turn three to fill your curve and have it do nothing! That way you could get stomped by an aggressive deck 😮

Cube is not a monolith, you guys talk about cube as if building a cube is a PT format. It's not.
So overall the whole set is a B or C except like 3 cards. Could have made a 2 minute episode of "don't play these 3 cards in MH3"
