Countertop is so nice I would be afraid to put anything on it. Just sit and look at it.
You said in the beginning of the video that they made the counter top in one piece and then cut it.
If that's the case shouldn't the wood match better in the joints?
What? They built the top in one giant piece and cut it in thirds.
@@ObsessedGarage But the wood (grain, color etc) doesn't seem to match in the joints, look at 10:04 as an example. Is it possible to put the pieces in the wrong order?

I run shipping from Greenville, SC to Arizona for $1200 ea way enclosed semi. $10k is unthinkable. I get $3800 semi trailer from Greenville to Monterey, California roundtrip eight-day run.

The wood looks great! It won't look like that for long after you drop greasy parts plus dents on it. Over the years I've been placing rubber mats on my bench tops. Screws and parts rolling around sucks.
Where is the right angle drill when you need it

Thank you. I didn't want to appear like a know-it-all. Dowel pins are for alignment. Glad the U of M (University of Matty) is dropping that sweet outro again. My old school Marc Levinson rumbles.

True OG people members are going to word things like intelligent people it’s the bad people who act like smart asses that the OG community gets mad at. Matt and his team do a great job, just don’t know all the proper terms some times. Which is fine. I supply the RTA furniture industry so I am very familiar with these fasteners
@@timkinley1779 yep, though these aren't dowels. They are technically Dominos, which are like a hybrid of a biscuit and a dowel, created by Festool.

Looks rad. Making offers on houses with the prices in CA this kind of set up is likely going on the wishlist. Matt I think I saw the 1/2 power selector on the Milwaukee set at 2. Isn't that the higher torque setting? That's probably why you broke the fastener.
Those countertops look beautiful and engineered to exacting standards. I have never seen countertops designed so well. Excellent find. Thank you.

Matt look up parking lasers. They turn on automatically when you open the garage. Would be a cool way to perfectly place each car when parking them
Matt is not a baby. Looks funny, smells funny. But he can park a vehicle in a parking space.
I have the lasers. Pin point accuracy every time. They plug into a light bulb socket in the garage door opener motor. When the lights go out, so does the laser. I see others like them too.
@@timkinley1779 that logic doesn’t make any sense. Why do parking lots have lines? It’s simply a visual aid. Nothing more OCD than perfectly parking your car every time mate 😉
@@paedahe4975 I am all for something to assist with parking, but I think the end result will be jack shaft garage door openers with roll up doors. There probably will not be a “normal” light socket in the opener. The garage door openers I have use wireless LED lights. They are programmed to the opener and need to be plugged into power, but I have other lights so don’t really care where those are. I actually have one sitting on top of a cabinet.

Matt a question for you, Sinxe you order the cabinets as per job/garage do you have all the cabinets and drawer units on the same key or do you have a jailers key ring numbered so you can lock away just your power tools and chemicals?
That worktop has made those cabinets look superb.

I would devise a way to put a cover of some type, over the counter top to protect it when using it to work on car parts. I would not allow those to get scratched. They look too nice.
That's like putting plastic on a couch or seat covers on you car seats. I'm not a fan.

great color and material, but for a workbench top 16 guage stainless would be preferred.
I have that at OGHQ. It's scratched city. I think this is a better solution.
@@ObsessedGarage It can be easily polished to a shine though. Imagine what the wood will look like in a few months if the stainless is scratch city.

Hey, nice counter tops. For a excellent but affordable speaker system for your garage would be the Logitech hyperboom. All one unit, works via phone app, can have up to 3 or 4 people connected to it at any given time. Pretty dope and all in one unit. Pretty cheap relatively speaking. Fills my garage and sounds money. Figured to mention it. Peace.

@@DeliriousMike7 yeah it would be pedestrian for him but regular people don’t have his kind of cash. But if you still want decent sound for little money it’s a surprisingly good choice. A friend got one and I heard it and agreed it was dope for the money and I picked one up too. Uncomplicated, sounds great, and cheap ( relatively speaking). Be a good low end money option imho.
He’s selling Dynaudio. That’s what he will be using.

@@mdjak3686 there's no way the audio quality of the Hyperboom would eclipse the Dynaudio. Unless quality of audio is farther down on your list of what's important.
