I cried hard listing to this song. I left the Fire Service after 18 years... I got wrapped up in pills and went to rehab. The hardest words that I heard, were. You're a hero to everyone but your kids. Then after rehab and everyday since, I've made it about my children. Now knowing they always want to be with me. Fills my heart, with more joy and happiness. I'm glad that, I got the 2nd chance.

I spent most my life locked up hanging with people in clubs I thought cared about me as a brother. I finally got out made a promise to myself that I would leave that life and try and get sober. I did get off the drugs but couldn't seem to leave the life so I turned to alcohol and found some relief but it sucks now I wish I could get off the alcohol.this is the better of the 2 I guess I haven't been locked up since I got off the drugs thank god

Whew! I didn't just get emotional and tear up, I actually had to fight back the tears to the point where it physically hurt my throat. These guys are just amazing!

This song means so much to this single mom of 2 young men. I have been through so much with them. I've had to be mom and dad at the same time. That's not easy at all. I've had to stand up to them and cry in the dark. But I am proud of them. 20 yrs of tears and blood I have 2 good young men!
Those young men should be proud and you should too. As to the dead beat dad's they need their ass kicked for abusing a female or a child. That also goes for those who abuse the elderly. There is going to be a special place in heaven for moms like you and a special place in hell for the abusers. Abusers are just scared pussies that are afraid of a real man.

My son had a very very hard fight with his addiction. He has a 13 girl and a son 7. Unfortunately he ended up going to to heaven accidentally and died at 41 in June 2021. Miss him so much. He sure was a wonderful father and husband. But he's not here no more in flesh.😔🙏❤
I was so happy when my son finally listen to this song. It brought him back to his children and wife. I am blessed to have such a strong son. For a minute he was given in to his demons. This made me cry so hard. My grandsons father is messed up on drugs and alcohol. And even though he is mean to them when he’s around and not MIA, they think he has hung the moon. Wish there was something that would get ahold of him and let him see the light before it’s too late and my grandsons will grow up without a father.
I grew up thinking my daddy was a hero that he wanted to be a part of mine and my siblings life's. I ignored everything my mom would say. He was a drug addict and an alcoholic. It took me turning 17 and moving in with him to see he wasn't a hero, my mom was right. Now me and my siblings are grown we see that he didn't care about us but drugs and alcohol. His choices has landed him unable to work, still an alcoholic, and on over 20 medicines

They will allways rember you lived them. Because I know. I'm 52 and I rember my father gave me away after my moma passed away because his new wife didn't want someone else kid. But my grandma came and got me out of the welfare system and told me God had gifted her a little boy she had all ways wanted. It was me. She loved me til the day she passed. And I still rember the day she brought me home with her. She loved me as her own. And I still love her til this very day. I was only 9 years old when this happened. Now in 52 ....I love you grandma. This song opened my eyes, I missed a year of my oldest daughters life because I was strung out on meth. She will be 2yrs old March 16th two days after my birthday. My youngest daughter was born September 7th this year. Make a long story short my daughters mom left me and took the girls then one day the love of my life brought my daughters to see me and my oldest daughter said (I love you Daddy). From that day 2months ago I been sober and got my kids back and there momma. Gave my life to the Lord. God is good 🙏 🙏🙏

It was a very difficult time for me as it still is now at 48 yrs old I still cry like the child I was when he was teaching me what I did not quite understand until after he was gone from me in in the flesh. My Dad did 22 years in the Army, 2 tours in Vietnam, 1 in Korea, and a jungle warfare expert trainer in Panama. I was only 7 years old when we left there. I can relate to all these songs and can understand the words. I love all Nu Breed songs. I'm 53 years old, and until now, I only listened to country and 80's rock. I'll probably never get to see Nu Breed in concert while I'm here on earth, because I stay alone with SSDI as my only money coming in, but everyone can dream!

He is locked up right now and I feel like it's because he didn't get a chance to really know me . I was always gone 'doing time' ,"getting clean", "getting myself together" so I could be someone not the criminal or addict I was. But time got away from me he grew up and all he knew was what people told him but me and for his needing me there and not seeing the pain I felt and always was numbing he did the only thing he thought would make him like me. He is getting out soon and I pray daily I can let him see this is not a life to live by being there now and letting him see the hurt and loss I suffer everyday. It took me 4 years to get off drugs and it's hard. I've done people wrong and didn't know I did it I lost my whole family and all my friends because of the drugs. I have to remind myself that it maybe hard right now but I got this. I have to keep reminding myself that my stepson needs me and that I can't let him down so this song hits hard and let's me know ill get through everything and come out a better person. It's been a struggle to stay clean but I've been clean for a year and I have to keep pushing for my small family I have. It's sad knowing that my real family wants nothing to do with me but hopefully in the future they will allow me back into their life. For the ones that are recovering or in active addiction just know your not alone and remember you will come out a better person

This song opened my eyes, I missed a year of my oldest daughters life because I was strung out on meth. She will be 2yrs old March 16th two days after my birthday. My youngest daughter was born September 7th this year.
Make a long story short my daughters mom left me and took the girls then one day the love of my life brought my daughters to see me and my oldest daughter said (I love you Daddy). From that day 2months ago I been sober and got my kids back and there momma. Gave my life to the Lord.

What an outstanding song guy's! My Dad went to be with the Lord in 2000. It was a very difficult time for me as it still is now at 48 yrs old I still cry like the child I was when he was teaching me what I did not quite understand until after he was gone from me in in the flesh. My Dad did 22 years in the Army, 2 tours in Vietnam, 1 in Korea, and a jungle warfare expert trainer in Panama. I was only 7 years old when we left there. My Dad taught me so much and he never spoke of the wars, NEVER. HE WAS AND STILL IS MY HERO! LOVE YOU DAD. Thanks again for this song, you guy's are awesome and I love all your music. Thx

I have never listened to the kinda music until a friend of mine sent me another song, and "Welcome to My House" came on next. That's when I started listening to all Nu Breed songs. I can relate to all these songs and can understand the words. I love all Nu Breed songs. I'm 53 years old, and until now, I only listened to country and 80's rock. I'll probably never get to see Nu Breed in concert while I'm here on earth, because I stay alone with SSDI as my only money coming in, but everyone can dream!
This song has me crying my eyes out I was the Dad in this song cause the words describe me and my son so well. He is locked up right now and I feel like it's because he didn't get a chance to really know me . I was always gone 'doing time' ,"getting clean", "getting myself together" so I could be someone not the criminal or addict I was. But time got away from me he grew up and all he knew was what people told him but me and for his needing me there and not seeing the pain I felt and always was numbing he did the only thing he thought would make him like me. He is getting out soon and I pray daily I can let him see this is not a life to live by being there now and letting him see the hurt and loss I suffer everyday. It took me 4 years to get off drugs and it's hard. I've done people wrong and didn't know I did it I lost my whole family and all my friends because of the drugs. I have to remind myself that it maybe hard right now but I got this. I have to keep reminding myself that my stepson needs me and that I can't let him down so this song hits hard and let's me know ill get through everything and come out a better person. It's been a struggle to stay clean but I've been clean for a year and I have to keep pushing for my small family I have. It's sad knowing that my real family wants nothing to do with me but hopefully in the future they will allow me back into their life.
For the ones that are recovering or in active addiction just know your not alone and remember you will come out a better person
