Please take the time to watch the follow-up to this video here: th-cam.com/video/IEoZvKXDLts/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fg19IyAylz7r-T2S I have had some issues with the Neo 310s that need to be noted
I appreciate the in-depth description. I've had my eyes on these since I first saw them floating around on Reddit but I was apprehensive as I have wide feet. I'm happy to hear that they have a good amount of horizontal space 😁 Thank you ❤
Intuitions are so good I make sure I "use up" the og liners in all of my skates first before switching over--if I start on intuition I would literally never use the kit liners. Thanks for sharing your exp with the neos man
Thanks for watching and dropping comment! I have been selling the og liners on eBay to get a little cash back since the Intuitions feel so great but I’m gonna keep the Neo liners (they look sooooo good)
Thanx so much 😄 A little extra width compared to FR1 might be exactly what I need... 42 shell is too big with Intuitions but 40 shell is a tad too narrow at the toes... I don't need more flex though 🤔 maybe I should go with the single density variation, sadly won't come in that beautiful teal 😢 There is still no neoprene toe part at these liners, right?
I’ve ridden a pair of FR1s for the past 3 years and they have been wonderful. Really torn on if I should get a new set of FR1s (mine are beat and 1 size too big) or go for these. Will be skating with an Endless 90 frame. I do urban with lots of jumps down 4/5 stairs. I’m a little worried the extra flex of the Neos won’t give enough support for larger drops? What do you think?
My main frame of choice is also the Endless 90 😎 Honestly I’d stick to the FR1s if planning to do lots of jumps for the stiffer cuff. The Neo 2 80 is single density shell though 👀 may be worth a look into those if the FR1s aren’t wide enough to ride a lower size for you
@@PokeProfWill I think they’re my favorite frame by far. Much sturdier than NN or Rockin’ and the 90mm is a perfect jack of all trades. I love how sturdy the FR1s are although they are a bit on the heavy side. Do the Neo 2s feel similar in weight? I think I’ll probably go with the FR1 but man the Neo 2s look fantastic. Thank you so much for the in-depth review!
@@pangiokuhli255 I agree the Endless 90s hit that sweet spot on maneuverability/stability! They are amazing frames!! They seem to be very close to same weight as the FR1s; I could not tell a difference in weight and felt same to me in that respect Thanks for the comments! 😎
Nice skates man! With the wider base it looks like you could still do all the normal moves you normally pulled off. Does this feel more comfortable than your older skates? I’m on K2s soft boots and they are all narrow fit, which I like. I’m still looking into hard boots. I got some large bills to pay off prior to buying hard boots. Nice skate flow session and glad you spent time with family on Easter weekend. ❤
They are pretty comfortable! I think I still prefer the FR1 shell slightly but it’s really close right now; I need to skate on the Neo some more! They are roughly 1-1.5cm wider than FR1 shell at widest toe part but also flatter than the FR1s Hope you got to spend some good holiday time with the fam man! 🩵🥚
Great video Will!! I wanna get them, but as same as you I'd change the liner for the intution one, I have my FR1s in shell size 41-42 with Intuition 43, in your opinion, should I buy the Neos in size 42 to be able to downsizing?, thanks!
@@PokeProfWillthanks for your reply, left foot 278 mm and right one 276 mm, and yes I'm normal width. My FR1 intuition fits me perfect, considering I have FR intuition liner and this would be the one I use with the Neos. Once more thanks for your feedback!
@@danielromo781 yeah if you are currently in the size 42 FR1 shell fine with those measurements then the Neo 42 shell should be good tight fit as well in the length! They seem to be same length as FR1s. Toe box little wider and flatter on the Neo so something to consider there but my Intuitions fit perfectly in both the Neo shell and the FR1 shell both size 44 shell 😎
I’m trying to get a pair of these. Thanks for the info. Would you suggest sizing up or down? Do you think I could throw a different frame and some 90mm wheel set up . Basically the fr1 90mm Would love to switch between the two set ups. Thanks 🙏
I would go with the FR1 sizing chart for these personally (that’s what I did and they fit great using my FR1 size). They are little wider but also less vertical toe room. I have used my Endless 90s on the Neo duals and they also feel really nice that way! I have gone between 3x110 and 4x90 rockered; I need to try the arc frames on Neo 👀
Wow, I needed this review. I just wanna ask you, what’s like the lateral support compared to FR 1? It’s that enough to go deep edges and trust the cuff support (wizard skating😅)?
Sweet! Thanks for watching/comment/sub 🎉Lateral support felt just as stable as FR1s to me; I did not notice any lack of lateral support. FR1s are definitely a little better for the wizard skating due to cuff stiffness. UFR model probably best FR wizard boot: get the stiff cuff of FR1, no raised heel (so deep/flat sitting heel), and UFS mounting 🙂
@@PokeProfWill I actually already have the ufr, it’s really good for wizarding, it has the raised heel but the flat ufs sitting is obtained by lowering the plastic under the heel. It’s not a problem at all for me. If you say the lateral support is just a little bit less than the fr shell, I think it will be a good boot to try out. Maybe the single plastic version is better and harder, but this one color is incredibly nice
@@marcograndotto6615 nice! I will have to try Neo out with my 165 mount ARC frames! I also have UFR for an aggressive set and they feel extremely nice to skate in; have thought about buying a UFS wizard frame for them. I am not as experienced on wizard skating to be honest but can see how the increase forward flex on Neo would make harder during lions or other one foot spin moves
@@PokeProfWill I think I’ll try the neos anyway. My biggest concern is always about the lateral flex, not the forward. During lions I wanna trust the cuff keeping the lateral force so I do t have to compensate a lot, wich I find distracting from what you are doing.
Those look good, fit to match🤘...Did you by any chance try the stock liners with the stock laces coming from the boot into the liners, similar to the way it's done on the FR1s?
Thanks!! The color is definitely my style 😎 I did not try to lace the top holes in the stock liners but I probably should have tried to see a if a difference!
@@PokeProfWill indeed, I myself lose power transfer and feeling when I lace them separately. The symbiote one piece fit is amazing on FR1s but that's part of their original design. For me the whole goal of inline skates is for them to feel like an extension of your body and not a clunky piece of equipment attached to your foot. I've been lucky that every FR boot I've ever owned has felt just like that.
@@bladeshred01 thanks for sharing that! I am going to put the stock liners back in and see how it feels to lace top stock holes with shell! I usually use Intuition Premium and that one definitely feels better having separate laces for liner and shell imo. Although on Premium you have option to lace entire liner that is not on FR (top of foot portion). If the Premiums fill shell volume and wrap feet nice and tight (for my sizing they do) then they feel amazing and very much like an extension of the body 😎 I have 6 pairs of FR and love every single pair 🩵
I messed around on the Endless 90 on the Neo (usually I use them on the FR1s) and there is a noticeable lower ride height by maybe a centimeter or so. There is a wheel groove in the front part of the shell. When I get the 90s back on the Neos I’m gonna get out the calipers and measure (will report back here when I do). Thanks for watching!
@@marlonmj5I finally got the chance to measure shell toe distance to worn 90mm wheels (edit: Endless 90s) on my Neos vs FR1s: I have that the Neo is 18.2mm from front wheel top to bottom of shell toe; FR1s measure in at 24.1mm measuring the same spot with my calipers! Hope this info helps! I will have the skates half assembled for rest of day at least if want any other measurements!
I am using the Intuition Premium (28-28.5) which fits inside the size 10 shell very well (size 43-44 shell). The regular liner is super tight fit and the Intuition is a little more relaxed; however, once the intuition is broken in I will add a 4mm insole that Intuition sells for about $9 per pair to fill up a little more space. My large foot measures 278mm for reference and the lower size shell is 280mm rather than 290mm shell as I am using here (I am assuming that the shell sizes are same internal length as FR1; seems to be so)
For my size 44, Neo shell is same length as FR1 44 shell (Neo is shell 43-44 and FR1 is shell 10) Shoptask has a size guide out (first one I have seen for the Neo): it says that the size 40 shares a shell with size 39 for Neo 👀 in FR1 size 40 is stand alone shell (shell 7 with internal shell length at 270mm; this is my wife’s size). So Neo apparently uses 39-40 shell for size 40 and Shoptask recommends having 255mm foot length for size 40 Neo. Hope this helps!
